# Franco Ziliani (Francesco Ziliani, born 09/23/1956 in Milan, died in 2021) is an Italian journalist, blogger and wine critic, with a specialty in Italian wines since 1985. He has contributed to several periodicals including ''Decanter'', ''A Tavola'', ''Barolo & Co.'' and ''Merum'', ''Il Corriere Vinicolo'', ''De Vinis'', ''The World of Fine Wine'', as well as a column for '' Harpers Magazine'' with Nicolas Belfrage MW with whom he has also contributed to Tom Stevenson's annual ''Wine Report''. Ziliani and Jeremy Parzen launched VinoWire.com in March 2008, to provide an English language news service on the subject of Italian wine. Jeremy Parzen (born 1967 in Chicago, Illinois, United States) is an American wine writer and educator, blogger, food and wine historian, and musician who resides in Houston, Texas. He is author of the wine and lifestyle blog, ''Do Bianchi'', and was a co-editor, together with Italian wine writer Franco Ziliani, of ''VinoWire'', a blog devoted to news from the world of Italian wine. James Suckling (born September 29, 1958) is an American wine and cigar critic and former Senior Editor and European Bureau Chief of ''Wine Spectator'' as well as European Editor of ''Cigar Aficionado''. Suckling is internationally regarded as one of the world's most influential wine critics, and one of the most experienced critics of vintage cigars. Brunellopoli is the name given by Italian press for a scandal involving producers of Brunello di Montalcino under suspicion of wine fraud, first reported by Italian wine journalist Franco Ziliani and American wine critic James Suckling of '' Wine Spectator''. Master of Wine (MW) is a qualification (not an academic degree) issued by The Institute of Masters of Wine in the United Kingdom. The MW qualification is generally regarded in the wine industry as one of the highest standards of professional knowledge.
