Franco Archibugi
Franco Archibugi (18 September 1926 – 23 November 2020) was an Italian scholar in political, economic and social sciences, university professor in economic policy and spatial planning. He largely operated in Italy and in international governmental agencies; including in the field of economic development, social welfare and cooperation policy. Archibugi was the author of several works in planning theory and methodology, and was among the theorists and promoters of a new unitary discipline of planning – the “Planology” – aimed at creating a bridge between the theoretical scientific progress in economics and other social sciences with the actual political and administrative efficiency and management. After retiring from academia, he was still an active researcher as President of the Planning Studies Centre. He died in Rome in November 2020 at the age of 94. Giuseppe Saragat
Giuseppe Saragat (; 19 September 1898 – 11 June 1988) was an Italian politician who served as the president of Italy from 1964 to 1971. Early life Born to Sardinian parents, he was a member of the Unitary Socialist Party (Italy, 1922), Unitary Socialist Party (''Partito Socialista Unitario''; PSU) from 1922. He moved to Vienna in 1926 and to France in 1929. Political career Following the dissolution of the PSU in 1930, Saragat joined the Italian Socialist Party (''Partito Socialista Italiano''; PSI). He was a reformist democratic socialist who left the PSI in 1947 out of concern over its then-close alliance with the Italian Communist Party. He subsequently founded the Socialist Party of Italian Workers (''Partito Socialista dei Lavoratori Italiani''; PSLI), which in 1952 became the Italian Democratic Socialist Party (''Partito Socialista Democratico Italiano''; PSDI). He was to be the paramount leader of the PSDI for the rest of his life.

The University of Calabria ( it, Università della Calabria, UNICAL) is a state-run university in Italy. Located in Arcavacata, a hamlet of Rende and a suburb of Cosenza, the university was founded in 1972. Among its founders there were Beniamino Andreatta, Giorgio Gagliani, Pietro Bucci and Paolo Sylos Labini. It currently has about 35,000 students, 800 teaching and research staff and about 700 administrative staff. Antonio Giolitti
Antonio Giolitti (12 February 1915 – 8 February 2010) was an Italian politician and cabinet member. He was the grandson of Giovanni Giolitti, the well-known liberal statesman of the pre-fascist period who served as Prime Minister of Italy five times. Biography Giolitti was born in Rome. He joined the Italian Communist Party (Italian: ''Partito Comunista Italiano'', or PCI) in 1940 and was arrested and tried, but acquitted, for his associations with them. In the spring of 1943 Giolitti resumed his clandestine activities, for the Communist Party, contacting numerous military and political personalities, in order plan the overthrow of the fascist regime. Federico Zeri
Federico Zeri (12 August 1921 – 5 October 1998) was an Italian art historian specialised in Italian Renaissance painting. He wrote for the Italian newspaper '' La Stampa'', and was a well known television-personality in Italy. Zeri was born in central Rome, and graduated from Sapienza University of Rome in 1945. Not wishing to enter the academic world, he worked in the Ministry of Public Education until 1952. In 1948 he was nominated director of Galleria Spada in Rome. In 1963 Zeri was among the founding members of the Getty Villa's board of trustees. He left in 1984, after his argument that the Getty kouros was a forgery and should not be bought, was rejected. Massimo Severo Giannini (1915 – 2000) was an Italian politician and jurist. He was Minister from 1979 to 1980. He also was a member of the Accademia dei Lincei and vice president of the Higher Council for Cultural Heritage. Biography Giannini became a professor of administrative law at the age of 24, in 1939. He taught at the universities of Sassari, Perugia, Pisa and the University of Rome La Sapienza. The European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) was a European organization created after World War II to regulate the coal and steel industries. It was formally established in 1951 by the Treaty of Paris, signed by Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and West Germany.
