Franck Piccard
Franck Piccard (born 17 September 1965) is a French former Alpine skier. A native of Les Saisies, Piccard won a total of four Alpine skiing World Cup races. At the 1988 Olympics in Calgary he won a gold medal in the Super-G competition (the first winter Olympic gold-medal for a French athlete since ski racer Jean-Claude Killy in 1968, who became a three-times gold-medallist) and a bronze medal in the downhill. At the 1992 Olympics in Albertville he won a silver medal in the downhill. Skiercross
Ski cross is a skiing competition which incorporates terrain features traditionally found in freestyle skiing with courses which include big-air jumps and high-banked turns. In spite of the fact that it is a timed racing event, it is often considered a type of freestyle skiing. What sets ski cross apart from other alpine skiing disciplines is that it involves more than one skier racing down the course. Any intentional contact with other competitors like grabbing or any other forms of contact meant to give the competitor an advantage leads to disqualification. Ted Piccard (born November 30, 1978 in Albertville) is a French freestyle skier, specializing in ski cross and a former alpine skier. Piccard competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics for France. He placed 16th in the qualifying round in ski cross, to advance to the knockout stages. In the first round, he failed to finish, and did not advance. As of March 2013, his best showing at the World Championships is 29th, in 2009. Piccard made his World Cup debut in January 2005. 2013 Winter Universiade
The 2013 Winter Universiade, the XXVI Winter Universiade, was a winter multi-sport event which took place in Trentino, Italy between 11 and 21 December 2013. This was the first time that a Winter Universiade happened after the Summer Universiade in same the year and in the end of the year and missing two months for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Originally, it was planned to take place in Maribor, Slovenia in late January and early February, but the Government of Slovenia overturned its decision to partially fund the project due to financial problems in February 2012. Leila Piccard (born 11 January 1971) is a French former alpine skier who competed in the 1994 Winter Olympics and 1998 Winter Olympics. Saalbach-Hinterglemm is a municipality in the district of Zell am See (Pinzgau region), in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It is well known for its skiing and other winter sports.
