Francisco Solano López (comics)
Francisco Solano López (October 26, 1928 – August 12, 2011) was an Argentine comics artist. He was the co-creator of '' El Eternauta''. Career Born in Buenos Aires, Solano López began his career in 1953 working for the publishing house Columba where he illustrated the series ''Perico y Guillerma''. Working for Editorial Abril he met Héctor Germán Oesterheld, assigned to illustrate his series ''Bull Rocket'' for the magazine ''Misterix''. They collaborated on the series ''Pablo Maran'' and ''Uma-Uma'', before joining to start Oesterheld's publishing house Editorial Frontera. For the Frontera first publication of the monthly ''Hora Cero'', the team produced the series ''Rolo el marciano adoptivo'' and ''El Héroe''. López also alternated as artist on the '' Ernie Pike'' series with Hugo Pratt, Jorge Moliterni and José Antonio Muñoz. Cerebral Hemorrhage
Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), also known as cerebral bleed, intraparenchymal bleed, and hemorrhagic stroke, or haemorrhagic stroke, is a sudden bleeding into the tissues of the brain, into its ventricles, or into both. It is one kind of bleeding within the skull and one kind of stroke. Symptoms can include headache, one-sided weakness, vomiting, seizures, decreased level of consciousness, and neck stiffness. Often, symptoms get worse over time. Fever is also common. Causes include brain trauma, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and brain tumors. The biggest risk factors for spontaneous bleeding are high blood pressure and amyloidosis. Other risk factors include alcoholism, low cholesterol, blood thinners, and cocaine use. Diagnosis is typically by CT scan. Other conditions that may present similarly include ischemic stroke. Treatment should typically be carried out in an intensive care unit. ''Skorpio'' is a weekly anthology comic magazine published in Argentina since 1974 to 1996 and in Italy since 1977 onwards. History and profile ''Skorpio'' was created in July 1974 by Ediciones Record, with Alfredo Scutti serving as editorial director and Juan Zanotto as artistic supervisor. It is named after a character created by writer Eugenio Zappietro (under the pen name Ray Collins) and artist Ernesto R. Garcia Seijas. Because of the artistic freedom it granted, the magazine attracted all the major Argentine comic artists of the time. The magazine got an immediate success. Carlos Sampayo
Carlos Sampayo (born 17 September 1943) is an Argentine writer best known for his work in comics, particularly in collaboration with artist José Muñoz. Sampayo was born in Carmen de Patagones, but left Argentina in the early 1970s for political reasons, and stayed in Italy, France and settled in Spain. He is also a poet and a literature and music (particularly Jazz) critic. Ricardo Barreiro
Ricardo Barreiro (October 2, 1949 – April 12, 1999) was an Argentine comic book writer. Biography Barreiro was born in the barrio of Palermo in Buenos Aires. At a very early age he published articles and short stories on the underground magazine ''Sancho''. His first comic book as writer was ''SlotBar'', with art by Francisco Solano Lopez. This was followed by the noteworthy war series of '' As de Pique'' ("Pik As") and the science-fiction '' The City'', both drawn by Juan Giménez. In the 1970s he moved to Europe, living in Paris and Rome for six years; he became particularly popular in France. Barreiro returned to Argentina, where he died of larynx cancer at age 49. Many of his titles appeared in Spanish, Italian and Dutch. Not much has been translated in English.
