Francisco Martínez Yago
Francisco Martínez Yago (2 November 1814, Paiporta - 19 January 1895, Valencia) was a Spanish painter; father of Salvador Martínez Cubells. Biography He began his artistic studies under the direction of . Later, he completed them with Francisco Llácer Valdermont (1781-1857) and Miguel Parra Abril, while enrolled at the Academia de San Carlos. During his time there, he won several awards. In 1844, the Academia named him a supernumerary Academician for painting. Three years later, he was awarded the same title for history. The following year, upon the death of Pedro Pérez, he was appointed to be the Academia's Concierge. Most of his paintings were commissioned by individuals and organizations; notably a portrait of Bruno of Cologne for the Jesuit Church, an Assumption for the parish church in Torrente, and several works on Greek mythology for Count Parsent. The Assumption of Mary is one of the four Marian dogmas of the Catholic Church. Pope Pius XII defined it in 1950 in his apostolic constitution ''Munificentissimus Deus'' as follows: We proclaim and define it to be a dogma revealed by God that the immaculate Mother of God, Mary ever virgin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into the glory of heaven. The declaration was built upon the 1854 dogma of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, which declared that Mary was conceived free from original sin, and both have their foundation in the concept of Mary as the Mother of God. It leaves open the question of whether Mary died or whether she was raised to eternal life without bodily death. The equivalent belief (but not held as dogma) in the Eastern Orthodox Church is the Dormition of the Mother of God or the "Falling Asleep of the Mother of God". Juan De Juanes
Vicente Juan Masip (also known as Joan de Joanes) (15071579) was a Spanish painter of the Renaissance period. He is commonly considered the foremost member of the Valencian school of painters. Masip was born in La Font de la Figuera. His father was Vicente Masip ( Andilla 1475Valencia 1545), and his son was Vicente Masip Comes (–1623), known as Vicent de Joanes, who imitated his style. His two daughters, Dorotea Joanes (died 1609) and Margarita Joanes (d. 1613), were also painters. His most prominent pupil was Nicolas Borras. Torrent ( es, Torrente) is a city located within the metropolitan area of the city of Valencia, Spain. It is the largest municipality of the Horta Oest ''comarca'', with 83,962 inhabitants (2020). Bruno of Cologne, O.Cart. (german: Bruno von Köln, it, Bruno di Colonia;c. 1030 – 6 October 1101), venerated as Saint Bruno, was the founder of the Carthusian Order. He personally founded the order's first two communities. He was a celebrated teacher at Reims, and a close advisor of his former pupil, Pope Urban II. His feast day is October 6.
