Francielle
Francielle Manoel Alberto (born 18 October 1989), commonly known as Francielle or Fran, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Brazil women's national football team. At club level she most recently played for Norwegian Toppserien club Avaldsnes IL. She previously played for Corinthians, São José and Santos in Brazil, as well as for Saint Louis Athletica and Sky Blue FC of Women's Professional Soccer (WPS). Playing career Club United States Francielle was on the opening day roster for St. Louis Athletica in the inaugural season of the WPS in 2009, and played in six matches for them. On 26 June 2009, St. Louis Athletica traded Francielle and Kerri Hanks to Sky Blue FC for Sarah Walsh. She scored the game-winning goal in the first round of the WPS playoffs at the Washington Freedom. 2009 Copa Libertadores Femenina
The 2009 Copa Libertadores de Fútbol Femenino (officially Copa Santander Libertadores de Fútbol Femenino 2009) for sponsorship reasons) was the first edition of the Copa Libertadores Femenina, CONMEBOL's premier annual international women's club tournament. The competition was played in Santos, São Paulo and Guarujá, Brazil, from October 3 to October 18, 2009. Santos defeated Universidad Autónoma 9–0 to win their first Copa Libertadores Femenina title. 2009 Women's Professional Soccer Playoffs
The 2009 WPS Playoffs were the postseason to Women's Professional Soccer's 2009 Season, that started on August 15 and culminated on August 22 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Format The top four WPS teams, based on their regular season finishes, qualified for the playoffs. In the First Round, the third-ranked team hosted the fourth-ranked team. The winner of that match advances to the Super Semifinal, where they traveled to the second-ranked team. Finally, the regular season first-ranked team hosted the winner of the Super Semifinal in the WPS Championship match. This format, fairly unusual in the American sports landscape, preserves the knockout-style postseason most American sports fans are familiar with, while also highly favoring the regular season first-ranked team. Saint Louis Athletica was an American professional soccer club that was based in the St. Louis suburb of Fenton, Missouri that participated in Women's Professional Soccer. Athletica started the 2009 season playing its home games at Ralph Korte Stadium, on the campus of SIUE in Edwardsville, Illinois, then moved to Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri in June. On May 27, 2010, the WPS announced that the Club would fold effective immediately, forcing the league to compete with only 7 teams for the rest of the season. Football at the 2011 Pan American Games was held in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 18 to October 28. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to send their full women's national teams and men's U-22 teams to participate. In addition teams are allowed to enter a maximum of eighteen athletes. For these games, the men and women competed in an 8-team tournament, a reduction of 4 teams for men and 2 for women, who competed with 10 teams, from the previous edition of the games. Kerri Michel Hanks Petersen (; born September 2, 1985) is an American soccer forward who last played for Sky Blue FC of Women's Professional Soccer. She is currently the head coach for the Clay County United Soccer Alliance U18 girls' soccer team. She will soon be taking over as the Director of Coaching for the girls side of the operation, for the GSA in Gainesville, Florida. Hanks was a forward for the University of Notre Dame women's soccer team from 2005 to 2008, and is one of the most highly decorated players in the history of women's college soccer. The 2011 Pan American Games, officially the XVI Pan American Games, was an international multi-sport event that was held from October 14–30, 2011, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
