Francesco Cabras
Francesco Cabras (born 27 May 1966, in Rome) is an Italian actor and film director. He played the role of Gesmas on Mel Gibson's ''The Passion of the Christ'', the chief of the rebels in Kurt Wimmer's '' Equilibrium'', and Grigori Rasputin in Louis Nero's 2011 film ''Rasputin''. He is currently working as a director, writer, cinematographer, cameraman and producer. His acting debut won him the 1996 Nanni Moretti's Sacher Festival Award for best leading actor. He directed, together with Alberto Molinari Alberto Molinari (born Rome, April 14, 1965) is an Italian actor, producer, and director, mainly of documentary films. He made his debut in the 1988 film ''Un bel dì vedremo''. Gesmas
The impenitent thief is a man described in the New Testament account of the Crucifixion of Jesus. In the Gospel narrative, two criminal bandits are crucified alongside Jesus. In the first two Gospels (Matthew and Mark), they both join the crowd in mocking him. In the version of the Gospel of Luke, however, one taunts Jesus about not saving himself and them, and the other (known as the penitent thief) asks for mercy. In apocryphal writings, the impenitent thief is given the name Gestas, which first appears in the Gospel of Nicodemus, while his companion is called Dismas. Christian tradition holds that Gestas was on the cross to the left of Jesus and Dismas was on the cross to the right of Jesus. Kurt Wimmer (born 1964) is an American screenwriter, film producer and film director. Biography He attended the University of South Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, BFA degree in Art History. He then moved to Los Angeles, where he worked for 12 years as a screenwriter before directing the 2002 film ''Equilibrium (film), Equilibrium''.
