France Gareau
France Gareau (born April 15, 1967) is a Canadian athlete, who competed in the sprint events. Gareau was born in Verner, Ontario. Gareau competed for Canada in the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, United States in the 100 metres and the 4 x 100 metres relay, where she anchored Canada to the silver medal (as a 17-year-old) with her teammates Angela Bailey, Marita Payne and Angella Taylor-Issajenko. Gareau also won relay medals at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, 1993 Summer Universiade and at two Francophone Games. Gareau was also Canadian champion at the 100 metres in 1989. Personal life She is married to former Ottawa Rough Riders and BC Lions player Sean Foudy. Their sons Liam and Jean-Luc are ice hockey players. Sprinting is running over a short distance at the top-most speed of the body in a limited period of time. It is used in many sports that incorporate running, typically as a way of quickly reaching a target or goal, or avoiding or catching an opponent. Columbus Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets (often simply referred to as the Jackets) are a professional ice hockey team based in Columbus, Ohio. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference, and began play as an expansion team in 2000. Liam Foudy (born February 4, 2000) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre for the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted 18th overall by the Blue Jackets in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Junior hockey London Knights Foudy was selected 18th overall in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection by the London Knights. Sean Foudy
Sean Foudy (born October 25, 1966) is a former Canadian football defensive back who played six seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Ottawa Rough Riders and BC Lions. He was drafted by the Rough Riders in the third round of the 1989 CFL Draft. He played CIS football at York University. College career Foudy participated in football and track for the York Lions from 1986 to 1991. He helped the track team win silver and bronze team medals at the national championships and, individually, he won four CIAU and five OUAA medals in the 60m hurdles and relays. The BC Lions are a professional Canadian football team based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Ottawa Rough Rider
The Ottawa Rough Riders were a Canadian Football League team based in Ottawa, Ontario, founded in 1876. Formerly one of the oldest and longest-lived professional sports teams in North America, the Rough Riders won the Grey Cup championship nine times. Angella Taylor-Issajenko
Angella Taylor-Issajenko, CM (née Taylor; born September 28, 1958) is a Canadian coach and former sprinter. She won an Olympic silver medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay in Los Angeles 1984. At the Commonwealth Games she won seven medals, including the 100 metres title in Brisbane 1982 and the 200 metres in Edinburgh 1986. Career Angella was born in Jamaica on September 28, 1958. Her breakout performance came at the 1979 Pan Am Games, where she took a bronze in the 100 m and a silver in the 200 m, and set national records of 11.20 and 22.80 respectively. Marita Payne
Marita Payne-Wiggins (born October 7, 1960) is a Canadian former track and field athlete who competed in two consecutive Summer Olympics. She is the co- Canadian record holder in the 400 metres, along with Jillian Richardson, and previously held the Canadian record in the 200 metres. Angela Bailey
Angela Bailey (28 February 1962 – 31 July 2021) was a Canadian track and field athlete. She is the Canadian record holder in the 100 metres with her personal best of 10.98 seconds in 1987. She also holds the 200 metres indoor national record with 23.32 seconds in 1984. She won an Olympic silver medal in the 4×100 metres relay in 1984, three relay silver medals at the Commonwealth Games, and a bronze medal in the 60 metres at the 1987 World Indoor Championships.
