Fran Godfrey
Frances Helen Godfrey (born 29 June 1953) is a former BBC Radio 2 newsreader, most famous for her appearances on ''Wake Up to Wogan'', a long-running breakfast show in the United Kingdom.''Mustn't Grumble'', by Sir Terry Wogan (2006) () Godfrey began contributing to ''Wake Up to Wogan'' in 1993 and made her final appearance on the show on 9 May 2008. Biography and career Born in Hampstead, London, Godfrey left England at the age of two to live in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), returning four years later with parents and brothers Tony and Nick to live for a short time near Oxford, before moving to Highcliffe in Dorset. She was educated at the Convent of the Cross, and the Polytechnic of Central London before moving into secretarial work for several years in London and Bournemouth. Bauer Media Audio UK is a UK-based radio division of the Bauer Media Group. History In early 2008, German magazine publisher Bauer bought the radio division of British company Emap, which had been established as East Midland Allied Press in 1947. Consequently, Emap Radio Limited was renamed to Bauer Radio Limited. Alan Dedicoat (born 1 December 1954) is an English announcer for programmes on BBC One. He is known as the "Voice of the Balls" on the National Lottery (United Kingdom), National Lottery The National Lottery Draws, programmes, providing a voiceover for the draws since 1995. ''Wake Up to Wogan'' (''WUTW'') was the incarnation of ''The Radio 2 Breakfast Show'' that aired each weekday morning from 4 January 1993 to 18 December 2009. It was the most-listened-to radio show in the United Kingdom, and the flagship breakfast programme broadcast on BBC Radio 2. The show was presented by Terry Wogan, who had previously presented the breakfast show between 1972 and 1984, but the title ''WUTW'' was only added at the start of his second tenure. Wogan replaced Brian Hayes, who had hosted the breakfast show during 1992. On 7 September 2009, Wogan confirmed to his listeners that he would be leaving the show at the end of the year, with Chris Evans taking over the breakfast show from 11 January 2010.
