Forough Āzarakhsh'i ( fa, فروغ آذرخشی 1904 in Arak, Iran – 1963 in Mashhad (?), Iran)The present contents of this biographical sketch is based on the article ''"Forough Āzarakhsh'i"'', in Persian, published on Wednesday 25 July 2007 (3 Mordard 1386) in ''Emshās'pandān' established the first elementary school, elementary and secondary schools for girls in Mashhad, Iran, of which the former became known as "Forough's School" ("مدرسه فروغ"). Forough Āzarakhsh'i dwelt with the hostility of traditionalists. Upon establishing "Forough's School", some religious extremists threatened to set fire to this school, which was held at her private home. To counter this threat, she, along with her children and members of her extended family, protected the school by the force of arms, a measure that was kept in place for two years. Arak, Iran
Arak ( fa, اراک, ''Arâk''; ) is the capital of Markazi Province, Iran. At the 2011 census, its population was 526,182, in 160,761 families. The city is nicknamed the "Industrial Capital of Iran". As a major industrial city, Arak hosts several industrial factories inside and within a few kilometers outside the city, including the factory of Machine Sazi Arak and the Iranian Aluminium Company. These factories produce nearly half of the needs of the country in steel, petrochemical, and locomotive industries. As an industrial city in a developing country, Arak suffers from air pollution. Etymology Arâk The term ''Arâk'' remains from a name given to the region since the medieval period. Farrokhroo Parsa
Farrokhroo Parsa ( fa, فرخرو پارسا; 24 March 1922 – 8 May 1980) was an Iranian physician, educator, and parliamentarian. She served as minister of education under Amir Abbas Hoveida and was the first female cabinet minister. Parsa was an outspoken supporter of women's rights in Iran. Farrokhroo Parsa was executed by firing squad on 8 May 1980 in Tehran, at the outset of the Islamic Cultural Revolution. Biography Farrokhroo Parsa was born on 24 March 1922 in Qom to Zoroastrian parents Farrokh-Din and Fakhr-e Āfāgh Pārsāy. Her mother, Fakhr-e Āfāgh, was the editor of the women's magazine '' Jahān-e Zan'',. and a vocal proponent for gender equality and for educational opportunities for women. The Iranian Women's Rights Movement ( Persian: جنبش زنان ایران), is the social movement for women's rights of the women in Iran. The movement first emerged after the Iranian Constitutional Revolution in 1910, the year in which the first women's periodical was published by women. The movement lasted until 1933 when the last women's association was dissolved by the government of Reza Shah Pahlavi. It rose again after the Iranian Revolution in 1979. Bibi Khānoom Astarābādi ( fa, بی بی خانم استرآبادی) (1858/9 – 1921) was a notable Iranian writer, satirist, and one of the pioneering figures in the women's movement of Iran. Biography Bibi Khatoon Astarabadi was born to the family of ''Mohammad Baqer Khan Astarabadi'', one of the notable men of Astarabad (the present-day Gorgan), and ''Khadijeh Khanom'' (خديجه خانم), known as ''Mollah Bāji'' (ملاباجی), one of the companions of ''Shokuh ol-Saltaneh'' (شکوه السلطنه), wife to Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar.
