Formula Regional Middle East Championship
The Formula Regional Middle East Championship is an FIA-certified Formula Regional racing series, which will start in 2023. This championship will race in the Emirati venues from the 2022 Formula Regional Asian Championship and Kuwait Motor Town. The promoter of Formula Regional Asian Championship Top Speed has plans to relaunch Formula Regional Asian Championship in Southeastern Asia, so the championship in this circuits will be renamed as Formula Regional Middle East Championship. Car The championship will feature Tatuus designed and built Tatuus F.3 T-318 cars. The cars will include a number of enhanced safety features including the halo. Formula Regional
Formula Regional (FR) is an FIA-approved moniker for certified regional one-make Formula Three championships with the concept being approved during the FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting in December 2017. The first series under new regulations were launched in Asia and North America in 2018, followed by European counterpart in 2019 and Japanese in 2020. This step of FIA Global Pathway ladder serves to close the performance gap between Formula 4 (160 bhp) and global Formula 3 Championship (380 bhp), being powered by 270 bhp engines. 2023 Formula Regional Middle East Championship
The 2023 Formula Regional Middle East Championship was a multi-event, Formula Regional open-wheel single seater motor racing championship. The championship featured a mix of professional and amateur drivers, competing in Formula Regional cars. It was the inaugural season of the championship, using the venues and dates for what was originally planned to be the Formula Regional Asian Championship, with the Asian Championship then being relaunched in October of the same year. The season was held in January and February of 2023. Andrea Kimi Antonelli won the drivers' championship in the penultimate race, and in doing so also became rookie cup winner. His team, Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited, won the teams' title. Tatuus is an Italian chassis manufacturer for a series of formula racing series, being first founded in 1980. The company is known for its association with Renault Sport for its production of the Formula Renault chassis. History The Tatuus company was founded by Artico Sandonà in 1980. The first cars were manufactured for the 500cc and 1000cc Formula Monza championship. Founder Sandona was one of the drivers in the Formula Monza championship. 2022 Formula Regional Asian Championship
The 2022 Formula Regional Asian Championship was a multi-event, Formula Regional open-wheel single seater motor racing championship. The championship featured a mix of professional and amateur drivers, competing in Formula Regional cars. It was the fifth season of the championship, and the first season under the Formula Regional moniker, after a rebrand happened due to the FIA ending the F3 category name. The season was held over five consecutive weekends in January and February 2022. For the first time, the second race of a weekend was a reversed-grid race, reversing the top 10 finishers of race one. Kuwait Motor Town is a motor racing circuit in Kuwait, located south of the capital Kuwait City. The main circuit is the first circuit in Kuwait to hold an FIA Grade One and FIM Grade A licence. Formula Regional Asian Championship
The Formula Regional Asian Championship is an FIA-certified regional Formula 3 racing series, which started in 2018. On 26 January 2018 it was confirmed that pan-Asian promoter Top Speed would organise the championship. Despite using Formula Regional cars since its establishment, the series was called F3 Asian Championship for four years until it was eventually rebranded in December 2021, when the FIA brought an end to F3 as a category. Halo (safety Device)
The halo is a driver crash-protection system used in open-wheel racing series, which consists of a curved bar placed to protect the driver's head. The first tests of the halo were carried out in 2016 and in July 2017. Since the 2018 season the FIA has made the halo mandatory on every vehicle in Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3, Formula Regional, Formula E and also Formula 4 as a new safety measure.
