The Formula Regional Indian Championship is a FIA-certified Indian regional Formula 3 championship and is organized by Racing Promotions Pvt Ltd. The inaugural season will be held in 2022. Tatuus
Tatuus is an Italian chassis manufacturer for a series of formula racing series, being first founded in 1980. The company is known for its association with Renault Sport for its production of the Formula Renault chassis. History The Tatuus company was founded by Artico Sandonà in 1980. The first cars were manufactured for the 500cc and 1000cc Formula Monza championship. Founder Sandona was one of the drivers in the Formula Monza championship. Luca Melgrati won the first championship for Tatuus in 1983 in the Formula Panda Monza championship. Sandona achieved a second place in the championship. Tatuus were the team and chassis to beat. Melgrati won the championship again in 1985 and 1986. For the 1988 season the Italian manufacturer was contracted to build the cars for the new Formula König. 2022 Formula Regional Indian Championship
The 2022 Formula Regional Indian Championship was to be a multi-event, Formula Regional open-wheel single seater motor racing championship held across India. This would have been the inaugural season of the championship, and also the first FIA-sanctioned championship held in India, together with its support series, the F4 Indian Championship. Teams and drivers Drivers would have been competing with Alfa Romeo-powered Tatuus F3 T-318 cars run by Prema Powerteam. Race calendar The original 2022 calendar was announced on 19 August 2021, planned to be held over five three-race weekends in February and March of 2022. However, in January 2022, the season was postponed until November because of the pandemic's resurgence. In March of 2022, a new provisional calendar was announced. Formula Regional
Formula Regional (FR) is an FIA-approved moniker for certified regional one-make Formula Three championships with the concept being approved during the FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting in December 2017. The first series under new regulations were launched in Asia and North America in 2018, followed by European counterpart in 2019 and Japanese in 2020. This step of FIA Global Pathway ladder serves to close the performance gap between Formula 4 (160 bhp) and global Formula 3 Championship (380 bhp), being powered by 270 bhp engines. On 13 December, it was announced that the Toyota Racing Series would be rebranded as Formula Regional Oceania Championhsip. Semi-automatic Transmission
A semi-automatic transmission is a "theoretical" multiple-speed transmission where part of its operation is automated (typically the actuation of the clutch), but the driver's input would be required to launch the vehicle from a standstill and to manually change gears.
