Forest Heights is a residential neighbourhood in east central Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that overlooks the North Saskatchewan River valley to the north and west. Four bridges provide access to destinations on the north side of the river. The neighbourhood is bounded on the north and west by the North Saskatchewan River valley, on the east by Wayne Gretzky Drive and 75 Street, and on the south by 98 Avenue. 106 Avenue cuts through the neighbourhood. The community is represented by the Forest/Terrace Heights Community League, established in 1920, which maintains a community hall and outdoor rink located at 80 Street and 101 Avenue. Rossdale, Edmonton
Rossdale is a river valley neighbourhood in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, located immediately south of the downtown core. It is a popular residential neighbourhood with easy access to downtown, the University of Alberta, the Edmonton river valley park system, and other amenities. Low Level Bridge (Edmonton)
The Low Level Bridge is a bridge that spans the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Completed in 1900, this was the first bridge across the North Saskatchewan River. James MacDonald Bridge
The James MacDonald Bridge is a bridge that spans the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Construction of the bridge began in the early 1960s and was completed in October 1971. The bridge was named after city engineer James MacDonald. This span was designed to carry the 5 westbound collector lanes of the south leg of the "downtown freeway loop", as conceived under the "METS" design study. This explains the "overbuilt" appearance of the still existing interchange system on the east side of the North Saskatchewan River and the truncated appearance of the ramps at the east end of the bridge. Most of these ramp alignments were sited as temporary connectors under the phased construction planning, yet continue to serve in their original state. Riverdale is a river valley neighbourhood located just east of the downtown core in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Its boundaries on the east and south are the North Saskatchewan River from which the name of the community is associated with.
