Forest Grove High School is a public high school in Forest Grove, Oregon, United States. Founded in 1907, it is the only high school in the Forest Grove School District. Academics The school has been awarded the Bronze Medal in the '' U.S. News & World Report'' rankings of America's Best High Schools. Forest Grove, Oregon
Forest Grove is a city in Washington County, Oregon, United States, west of Portland. Originally a small farm town, it is now primarily a commuter town in the Portland metro area. Settled in the 1840s, the town was platted in 1850, then incorporated in 1872, making it the first city in Washington County. The population was 21,083 at the 2010 census, an increase of 19.1% over the 2000 figure (17,708). The ''News-Times'' is a weekly newspaper covering the cities of Forest Grove and Hillsboro in the U.S. state of Oregon. Established in 1886 and with coverage focused on Forest Grove for most of its history, the paper only recently added equivalent coverage of the much larger city of Hillsboro, when, in August 2019, publisher Pamplin Media Group launched a separate Hillsboro edition of the ''News-Times'', to replace Pamplin's '' Hillsboro Tribune''. Zachary Martin Rosscup (born June 9, 1988) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Seattle Mariners, and Toronto Blue Jays. Mitch Meeuwsen (born April 20, 1982) is a graduate assistant football coach at Oregon State University. Early years Mitch Meeuwsen was born in Hillsboro but grew up in Forest Grove. Meeuwsen played football, basketball and baseball while growing up and spent the summers camping and traveling for sports with his family. Meeuwsen's parents still reside in his hometown along with many extended family members that are in the surrounding communities. High school Meeuwsen attended Forest Grove High School in Forest Grove, Oregon. He was named an honorable mention All-America by USA Today, 1st Team All-State as a Safety, and honorable mention All-State as quarterback for the Vikings. Robert Garrigus (born November 11, 1977) is an American professional golfer who is currently a member of the PGA Tour. He won the 2010 Children's Miracle Network Classic, the last event of the PGA Tour season, to guarantee exempt status on the PGA Tour through the end of the 2012 season. Robert William Chouinard (born May 1, 1972) is a Filipino-American former Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher. He is the only person born in the Philippines to play Major League Baseball. Chouinard played high school baseball at Forest Grove High School in Forest Grove, Oregon.
