''Footy Classified'' is an Australian television program broadcast two nights per week on the Nine Network, which discusses pressing issues relating to the Australian Football League and Australian rules football. It debuted on Monday 2 April 2007. Its presenters are well known football analysis personalities Craig Hutchison, Caroline Wilson, Matthew Lloyd and Kane Cornes on Monday nights, while Eddie McGuire and Ross Lyon replace Hutchison and Cornes respectively on Wednesday nights. Overview The show was originally known by the working title ''Footy Confidential'', before Foxtel later announced a gossip news show it was producing called ''Confidential'', causing Nine to rename the show to ''Footy Classified''. Craig Hutchison (broadcaster)
Craig Hutchison (born 4 December 1974) is an Australian journalist, sports broadcaster and businessman. Based in Melbourne, Hutchison often covers AFL topics and breaking news stories relating to the code. Early life and career Hutchinson was born in Warragul, Victoria. He commenced his career as a journalist in 1994 as a cadet with the ''Herald Sun'' newspaper. Two years later, he moved to Sport 927, where he was producer of the '' Kevin Bartlett and Dr Turf Big Sports Breakfast Show'' for approximately one year. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. A related display resolution is 1080p, which also has 1080 lines of resolution; the "p" refers to progressive scan, which indicates that the lines of resolution for each frame are "drawn" on the screen in sequence. Damian Barrett is an Australian journalist who works for AFL Media and covers Australian rules football. Career Barrett has worked in the Australian sports media, covering a variety of sports, for over 30 years. He has worked for the Herald Sun, The Footy Show, The Sunday Footy Show, Footy Classified on Channel 9 and on Triple M radio. Essendon Football Club
The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. The club was formed by the McCracken family in their Ascot Vale home "Alisa", and while the exact date is unknown, it is generally accepted to have been in 1872. Dean Laidley
Danielle May Laidley (born Dean James Laidley; 27 March 1967) is a former Australian rules football coach and player, who played for the West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne in the Australian Football League (AFL) from 1987 to 1997, including in North Melbourne's 1996 premiership team. Australian Rules Football
Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball.
