The Football Federation of the 1st Department Concepción (''Federación de Fútbol Primer Departamento Concepción'') is the departamental governing body of football (soccer) in the department of Concepción, in Paraguay. The federation is responsible for the organization of football leagues in the different cities of the department and it is also the regulator of the clubs. The main office of this federation is located in the city of Concepción. Tournaments for each league of this federation are played every year to determine the best teams. Concepción () is a city & district in northern Paraguay and capital of the Concepción Department. It lies next to the Paraguay River. Founded by a Spanish Governor, named Agustín Fernado de Pinedo, the town prospered in the early years of the 20th century, as a centre for the north of the country, exploiting the new wealth of the Gran Chaco, and a river port. The Paraguayan football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for football clubs in Paraguay. Overview At the top is the ''Primera División'' or ''División de Honor'' (first division) with 12 clubs. Below the 1st level is the ''Intermedia'' (second division). In order to get promoted to the Intermedia there are two subdivisions at the 3rd level: the ''Primera División B Metropolitana'', which comprises teams from the Gran Asunción area; and the ''Primera División B Nacional'' which contains the best teams from the different Departments of Paraguay. The 4th level is similar, with the ''Primera División C'' containing only teams from the Gran Asunción area.
