Empresa Folha da Manhã is a company owned by Grupo Folha that runs dailies Folha de S.Paulo and Agora São Paulo and classified sheet ''Alô Negócios'', a paper that circulates in Paraná State, Brazil. The company was founded in 1921 by a group of newsmen led by Olival Costa and Pedro Cunha, who launched the daily ''Folha da Noite'', a predecessor of ''Folha de S.Paulo''. The company was formally registered one year later, according to Pedro Cunha, and besides the two main shareholders, it had three other partners: Antonio dos Santos Figueiredo, Mariano Costa and Ricardo de Figueiredo. In 1962, it was acquired by Octavio Frias de Oliveira and Carlos Caldeira. Currently, the company is run by Luiz Frias, son to Octavio Frias de Oliveira and CEO of the group since 1992. Grupo Folha is the second largest Brazilian media conglomerate, after Grupo Globo. It was founded by Octávio Frias (1912–2007) and led by his son Luiz Frias since 1992. The group publishes ''Folha de S.Paulo'', the largest circulation paper in the country, which since 1986 keeps the leadership among quality general-interest newspapers in Brazil. In the last decade, the group nearly tripled its revenue, getting to R$2.7 billion in 2010. EBITDA reached R$600 million in 2011. The Três Estrelas book imprint, owned by Grupo Folha, was created in 2012 and covers the non-fiction field, with books on journalism, communication, history, politics, sociology, economics, philosophy, psychoanalysis, scientific information and biography. Datafolha
Datafolha is Grupo Folha's polling institute, founded in 1983 as the research department of Empresa Folha da Manhã S. A., and later on became a separate company able to serve external clients, from 1990. In 1995, it became a separate business unit within Grupo Folha, a group of companies to which newspaper Folha de S.Paulo belongs. Datafolha conducts statistical surveys, election polling, opinion and market surveys, both on behalf of other Grupo Folha units and for the market at large. The company does not offer polling services or government evaluations for public administrations, political parties, candidates or political figures.
