Fläskkvartetten
Fleshquartet ( sv, Fläskkvartetten) is a Swedish band. Despite the band's name, Fläskkvartetten is in reality a quintet consisting of an electrical string quartet plus a percussionist. The band often collaborates with vocalists who comprise a veritable Who's Who of Swedish alternative music. The musical style ranges from classical string music to experimental rock. Three of the members, Örjan Högberg, Jonas Lindgren and Mattias Helldén, met at Royal College of Music in Stockholm in the 1970s. They were joined by Sebastian Öberg and Johan Söderberg before the band released their first album. Fläskkvartetten won a Grammis award for the best instrumental album for Goodbye Sweden in 1990 and another Grammis for best album with their 1993 album "Flow". They received the Spelmannen award from Expressen in 2002. Morgan Ã…gren
Morgan Ågren (born 1967) is a Swedish drummer who plays with the progressive rock band Kaipa. Biography A native of Umeå, Västerbotten, Ågren was spotted as an outstanding talent at a young age as he began performing publicly at age seven, and eventually joined forces with Mats Öberg in 1981. They later formed "Zappsteetoot" together in 1984, a band internationally known for performing Frank Zappa's music. In 1988, at the age of 20, Morgan Ågren was, along with Mats Öberg, invited by Frank Zappa to do a guest performance at Zappa's Stockholm concert. Impressed by Ågren's skills, Zappa invited Ågren to the States to partake in several projects, including the 1994 Grammy Award-winning CD ''Zappa's Universe'' with Steve Vai, as well as a sold out New York performance of Zappa's classical program at Lincoln Center's Great Performers Series in Avery Fisher Hall. Freddie Wadling
Berndt Arvid Freddie Wadling (2 August 1951 – 2 June 2016) was a Swedish singer born in Gothenburg, whose over-thirty-year musical career extended from punk to classical ballads. Band member Wadling played bass in a number of bands during the 1970s and early 1980s. One notable band was Liket Lever (which translates as The Corpse Lives). In the early 1980s, he joined the cult band Cortex. During this period, Cortex released the album ''Spinal Injuries'', in 1981. The track "The Freaks", sung by Wadling, became a signature song for him and was used in the soundtrack to '' Tjenare Kungen''. He also played in the bands Straitjacket, Leather Nun, and Fleshquartet. Wadling was also featured in band Kingdom of Evol. Örjan (OErjan) is an old Swedish male name originating from the Low German name ''Jurian'' or ''Jurien'' which is a variant of George. The Name Day in Sweden is July 9. Jean-Louis Huhta
Jean-Louis Patrik Huhta (born 30 April 1965) is a Swedish musician. He has played in various bands going back through the mid 1980s, ranging from punk and art music to grindcore and funk. Career Huhta began his musical career in the early 1980s as a member of Freddie Wadling's post-punk band Cortex. He later joined the hardcore band Anti Cimex, in which he played percussion between 1984 and 1987. Since then, he has participated in various groups and experimental art projects. Together with Texas Instruments, he created rhythm-based industrial noise and as a member of the art collective Lucky People Center, he found his way to contemporary dance music. He has also dabbled in funk, hip hop, and go-go music with Stonefunkers. With The Skull Defekts, he toured the United States in 2009. Christian Olsson (musician)
Christian Olsson (born 25 January 1980) is a former Swedish athlete competing in high jump and triple jump. He won an Olympic gold medal, one gold and one silver medal in the World Championships and two gold medals in the European Championships as well as a further two golds in the World Indoor championships. He also won the overall IAAF Golden League jackpot in 2004 where he cashed in 500,000 US dollars (after splitting the million dollar pot with Tonique Williams-Darling). From 2007 to his retirement in 2012, he was beset by injuries which left him largely on the sidelines and unable to compete at top level competitions. Viola
The viola ( , also , ) is a string instrument that is bow (music), bowed, plucked, or played with varying techniques. Slightly larger than a violin, it has a lower and deeper sound. String Quartet
The term string quartet can refer to either a type of musical composition or a group of four people who play them. Many composers from the mid-18th century onwards wrote string quartets. The associated musical ensemble consists of two violinists, a violist, and a cellist. The string quartet was developed into its present form by composers such as Franz Xaver Richter, and Joseph Haydn, whose works in the 1750s established the ensemble as a group of four more-or-less equal partners.
