Floyd Buckley
Floyd Buckley (October 21, 1877 - November 14, 1956) was an American film, stage, and radio actor whose career began with Buffalo Bill and ended with Broadway. Born in Chatham, New York, Buckley attended St. John's Military Academy in Manlius, New York. He served in the Spanish–American War before he joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in 1899. He worked with the Office of War Information during World War II. He appeared in 15 films between 1914 and 1953. Besides acting, he worked as a stunt man and produced and directed films. He also acted in the theatrical short, "Be Kind to 'Aminals.'" During the 1930s, he was the voice of Popeye the Sailor on radio and was in the cast of ''Keeping Up with Wigglesworth''.. He also provided the voice of Popeye in the syndicated TV cartoon version of the program. Chatham (town), New York
Chatham is a town in Columbia County, New York, United States. The population was 4,104 at the 2020 census, down from the 2010 census. The town has a village also called Chatham on its southern town line. The town is at the northern border of Columbia County. History The early settlers were Dutch, but later Quakers and New Englanders arrived. The town of Chatham was formed from the towns of Canaan and Kinderhook in 1795. Contradictory of its current condition or image, Chatham was an industrial center of multiple inter-state rail lines in the early 1900s, including the junction of the Boston and Albany Railroad for connections east and west, the Rutland Railroad for connections to Vermont to the north, and the New York Central's Harlem Line for connections to New York City. Flushing Hospital Medical Center
Flushing Hospital Medical Center (also known as Flushing Hospital) is one of the oldest hospitals in New York City. It survived a 1999 bankruptcy and subsequently affiliated first with the New York Presbyterian Hospital and then with the MediSys Health Network. The hospital is also currently affiliated with the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine to provide clinical rotations for the college's osteopathic medicine students. History Established in 1884, in 1951 the hospital celebrated the birth of its 5,000th baby. By 1993 Flushing Hospital was described as "an unaffiliated community hospital that is struggling financially." ''The House of Hate'' is a 1918 American film serial directed by George B. Seitz, produced when many early film studios in America's first motion picture industry were based in Fort Lee, New Jersey. The serial was originally announced at fifteen episodes but due to its box office success was extended to twenty, at which time content involving German spies was interpolated into the murder mystery plot. A print of a condensed featurized version of ''The House of Hate'' from the collection of filmmaker Sergei Eisenstein is held in the Gosfilmofond film archive in Russia. Most of the propagandistic spy content is excised in the condensation, which does not include chapter divisions but does apparently include most of the content of episodes 1-4 as originally released, highlights from the middle chapters of the serial, and the complete finale including the extended flashback in which the masked villain's identity is revealed.
