Floris (film)
''Floris'' is a 2004 Dutch film, directed by Jean van de Velde and starring Michiel Huisman as grandson of the original Floris from the 1969 TV series. The new side-kick is "Pi", played by popstar Birgit Schuurman. In the film some of the 1969 footage with Rutger Hauer Rutger Oelsen Hauer (; 23 January 1944 – 19 July 2019) was a Dutch actor. In 1999, he was named by the Dutch public as the Best Dutch Actor of the Century. Hauer's career began in 1969 with the title role in the Dutch television series ' ... and Bergman is included. Originally Hauer was asked to play the father of young Floris, but he declined. The film was shot in 2003. Jean van de Velde (born 14 March 1957) is a Dutch film director and screenwriter. He has directed twelve films since 1979. Gerard Soeteman (born 1 July 1936 in Rotterdam) is a Dutch screenwriter. He worked together with Paul Verhoeven on several films, such as ''Turkish Delight'' and '' Black Book''. Michiel Huisman (; born 18 July 1981) is a Dutch actor who has acted in both Dutch and English-language TV series and films. Huisman began his career in the Dutch soap opera ''Goede tijden, slechte tijden'' (1998). He later played in the Dutch films ''Costa!'' (2001), ''Full Moon Party'' (2002), ''Phileine Says Sorry'' (2003), '' Floris'' (2004) and '' Black Book'' (2006), and in the Dutch TV series ''De co-assistent'' (2007–10) and ''Bloedverwanten'' (2010). During the early years of his acting career, Huisman was also part of a band called Fontane. Birgit Schuurman (born 1 July 1977, in Utrecht) is a Dutch singer and actress. Biography Schuurman was born in Utrecht and raised in Bunnik as the daughter of a Dutch father and a Surinamese mother; she's the younger sister of Katja Schuurman. Schuurman started her singing career several years before her graduation. Her first attempt to break into the music business was with some unsuccessful R&B and Dance projects. She also sang in the band Jeunes Turcs alongside her older sister Katja in 1995. After a short break in her musical career, she released some singles in 1999 which were more successful. ''A Little Famous'' and ''Maybe the Wine'' were minor hits and enabled her a certain degree of fame.
