Floriano Vaz
Floriano Vaz (8 September 1963 – 20 December 1986) was an Indian writer and activist from Goa. He was the first martyr of the scheduled tribe community who fought for the official status of the Konkani language during the Konkani language agitation. Early and personal life Floriano Vaz was born on 8 September 1963 at Cortalim, he hailed from Gogol near Margao. Vaz belonged to the scheduled tribe community and has a brother and a sister. Death On 20 December 1986, a heated argument took place between Sudin Bhagvanta Naique, a businessman and son of a prominent Gaud Saraswat Brahmin industrialist from Comba and his ex-employee, Vaz. The latter and his supporters had stopped his car from moving forward by blocking the road with boulders. At 1:20 pm, Rajaram G. Mario Menezes
Mario Piedade Menezes (29 May 1960 – 25 June 2022), popularly known by his sobriquet Tragedy King, was an Indian theatre director, playwright, and actor who primarily worked on the Konkani stage. He was the vice president of the Tiatr Academy Goa. Early and personal life Mario Menezes was born in the village of Chinchinim in Goa to Leopoldino and Esmeralda Menezes. Rosario Alfred Fernandes (5 August 1932 − 21 October 2003), better known by his stage name Alfred Rose, was a Goan tiatrist. He was one of the most popular singers and composers of Konkani songs (of the ''cantaram'' category), and is routinely broadcast on the Panaji or Panjim station of All India Radio ( Akashvani).
