Florian Pronold
Florian Pronold (born 28 December 1972) is a German lawyer and politician of the SPD who served as member of the German Bundestag from 2002 until 2021. From 11 July 2009 to 20 May 2017, he was state chairman of the SPD Bavaria. From 2013 until 2021, Pronold served as Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety in the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel. Education and early career Pronold was born in Passau. After graduating from high school in 1992 at the Robert Koch High School in Deggendorf, Pronold initially completed training - alongside comedian Django Asül - to become a banker at Sparkasse Deggendorf. Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. Agenda 2010
The Agenda 2010 is a series of reforms planned and executed by the German government in the early 2000s, a Social-Democrats/ Greens coalition at that time, which aimed to reform the German welfare system and labour relations. The declared objective of Agenda 2010 was to promote economic growth and thus reduce unemployment. Christian Ude
Christian Ude (born 26 October 1947) is a German politician who served as mayor of Munich from 1993 to 2014. He is a member of the German Social Democratic Party. Career Ude was born in Munich. From 1967 to 1969 he worked for the daily newspaper ''Süddeutsche Zeitung''. He studied legal science in Munich 1969-1977. From 1979 to 1990 he worked as a lawyer. He was elected as deputy mayor of Munich on 2 May 1990, two months after he was elected into the city council of Munich. Martin Dulig (born 26 February 1974) is a German politician for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). Until 20 December 2019 he has been the Saxon State Minister of Labor and Traffic and Deputy Minister President of Saxony in the governments of Stanislaw Tillich III and Michael Kretschmer. 2013 German Federal Election
Federal elections were held on 22 September to elect the members of the 18th Bundestag of Germany. At stake were all 598 seats to the Bundestag, plus 33 overhang seats determined thereafter. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany/ Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CDU/CSU) of incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel won their best result since 1990 with nearly 42% of the vote and nearly 50% of the seats, just five short for an overall majority. The Free Democratic Party (FDP) failed to meet the 5% vote electoral threshold in what was their worst showing ever in a federal election, denying them seats in the Bundestag for the first time in their history.
