Florence Gauvain (born 25 March 1962) is a French former professional tennis player. Gauvain had a career high singles ranking of 297 and appeared three times in the qualifying draw for the French Open. On the WTA Tour, Gauvain made two main draw appearance at the Clarins Open in Paris. In 1988 she won her first round match (over Louise Field) and in 1989 she took the fifth seed Bettina Fulco to three sets in a first round loss. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Clarins Open
The Open Clarins is a defunct WTA Tour affiliated tennis tournament played from 1987 to 1992. It was held in the Paris in France and played on the outdoor clay courts of the Racing Club de France. It was a Tier V tournament until 1989 and was subsequently promoted to Tier IV, raising prize money from $50,000 to $150,000. It was replaced by the Open Gaz de France in 1993. In 2022, a WTA 125 tournament was introduced at the venue under its sponsored name, Trophee Lagardère, with a total financial commitment of $115,000. Bettina Fulco (born 23 October 1968) is a retired professional women's tennis player from Argentina. She reached her highest ranking of world No. 23 on 10 October 1988. Fulco began playing tennis at age ten, at the university club in her hometown of Mar del Plata, having been inspired to start because of the increased interest in the sport in Argentina due to Guillermo Vilas' success. As a junior, Bettina was among the best in the world, reaching the finals of the Orange Bowl 18-and-under championships in 1986, and finishing second in the junior rankings in 1986.
