Florence Division
The Florence Division is a railroad division operated by CSX Transportation in the U.S. states of Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia & West Virginia. The Florence Division has 60 Subdivisions. The Subdivisions in ''italics'' came from the Huntington East & Huntington West Divisions effective June 20, 2016. Railroad
Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. In contrast to road transport, where the vehicles run on a prepared flat surface, rail vehicles (rolling stock) are directionally guided by the tracks on which they run. Tracks usually consist of steel rails, installed on sleepers (ties) set in ballast, on which the rolling stock, usually fitted with metal wheels, moves. Other variations are also possible, such as "slab track", in which the rails are fastened to a concrete foundation resting on a prepared subsurface. The Blue Ridge Subdivision is a railroad line owned by CSX Transportation in the U.S. states of Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. It was formerly part of the CSX Huntington West Division. It became part of the CSX Florence Division on June 20, 2016. The line was originally owned by Clinchfield Railroad and runs from Erwin, Tennessee, to Spartanburg, South Carolina, for a total of . At its north end it continues south from the Erwin Terminal Subdivision and at its south end it branches off onto the Belton Subdivision and the Spartanburg Subdivision. Eastover Subdivision
The Columbia and Sumter Railroad was a railroad in South Carolina running between those two cities that began operating immediately after the American Civil War. It later became part of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad network. The railroad is still in service today and it is now operated by CSX Transportation as their Eastover Subdivision. History The Columbia and Sumter Railroad was chartered by the South Carolina General Assembly in 1866, shortly after the American Civil War. It only briefly operated as an independent railroad before it was sold to the Wilmington, Columbia and Augusta Railroad (the successor to the Wilmington and Manchester Railroad) in 1870. The Columbia Subdivision is a railroad line owned by CSX Transportation in South Carolina and Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia. CN&L Subdivision
The CN&L Subdivision is a railroad line owned and operated by CSX Transportation in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The line runs from Columbia northwest to north of Laurens along the former Columbia, Newberry and Laurens Railroad. At its southeast end, the CN&L connects to the Hamlet Subdivision, Eastover Subdivision, and Columbia Subdivision.
