MIDAS Financing Limited is a major non-bank financial institution in Bangladesh. History MIDAS (Micro Industries Development Assistance and Services) Financing Limited was established on 16 May 1995. It provided financial support to small women entrepreneurs to establish minimart. On 11 October 1999, Midas secured permission from Bangladesh Bank. MIDAS Financing Limited listed on Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange on 26 October 2002 and 27 July 2004 respectively. In 2020 Proshanta Kumar Halder, known as the Sultan of Swindle, scammed 35 billion taka from the company. History People's Leasing and Financial Services Limited was established on 12 August 1996 and received its license from Bangladesh Bank on 24 November 1997. Tanvir Shakil Joy (born 1 August 1976) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Sirajganj-1 constituency. Career In April 2007, illegal VoIP equipment allegedly owned by Joy were seized by Rapid Action Battalion from a house in Bashabo, Dhaka.
