First Djerad Government
The first Djerad government (Arabic: حكومة جراد الأولى) is the forty-sixth government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. It is a government formed by Abdelaziz Djerad on 2 January 2020 under President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Formation After holding the elections that the Army was betting on in order to end the protests, and the announcement of Abdelmadjid Tebboune's victory and his inauguration as President, the unsurprising resignation of Noureddine Bedoui came. The First Minister Noureddine Bedoui submitted the resignation of his government on 19 December 2019, which the new President Abdelmadjid Tebboune accepted. Abdelmadjid Tebboune
Abdelmadjid Tebboune ( ar, عبد المجيد تبون, ʿAbd al-Majīd Tabbūn; born 17 November 1945) is an Algerian politician currently serving as the President of Algeria since December 2019 and as Minister of Defence. He took over the power from former President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and former Acting Head of State Abdelkader Bensalah. Previously, he was Prime Minister of Algeria from May 2017 to August 2017. In addition, he was also Minister of Housing from 2001 to 2002 for a year and again from 2012 to 2017 for 5 years. Early life and education Abdelmadjid Tebboune was born on 17 November 1945 in Mécheria, in the current Naâma Province, in Algeria, back then Aïn-Sefra territory. The prime minister of Algeria is the head of government of Algeria. Aymen Benabderrahmane has been the prime minister since 30 June 2021. The prime minister is appointed by the president of Algeria, along with other ministers and members of the government that the new prime minister recommends. 2019 Algerian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Algeria on 12 December 2019. The election had originally been scheduled for 18 April, but was postponed due to sustained weekly protests against plans by the incumbent president Abdelaziz Bouteflika to run for a fifth term. Bouteflika resigned on 2 April and Abdelkader Bensalah was elected acting president by parliament a week later. On 10 April the election was rescheduled for 4 July. On 2 June the Constitutional Council postponed the elections again, citing a lack of candidates. A new electoral authority, Autorité nationale indépendante des élections (ANIE), was created in mid-September as an alternative to the existing (HIISE) defined by the 2016 constitution. 2017 Algerian Legislative Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Algeria on 4 May 2017 to elect all 462 members of the People's National Assembly. The ruling National Liberation Front lost 44 seats, but remained the largest party in the People's National Assembly with 164 members.
