Firoz Mahmud Titu (footballer, Born 1983)
Firoj Mahmud Hossain ( bn, ফিরোজ মাহমুদ টিটু; born 15 January 1974), known as Firoz Mahmud Titu, is a Bangladeshi former footballer who played as a full-back. He played for the Bangladesh national team from 1999 to 2007. He is famous for his goal against FR Yugoslavia during the 2001 Sahara Cup becoming the first and only Bangladeshi player to score against a European team to date. Club career Titu started playing professionally through Fakirerpool Young Men's Club during the 1994–95 seasons after being admitted into BKSP in 1991. He also played for Dhaka Abahani, Mohammedan Dhaka, Brothers Union, Dhanmondi Club and Arambagh KS and won the league title with 3 different clubs. 2004 AFC Asian Cup Qualification
The qualification process for the 2004 AFC Asian Cup football competition began in March 2003. Out of the 45 AFC members, only Cambodia and the Philippines failed to enter for the tournament. Both China, the hosts and Japan, the reigning champions automatically qualified for the finals. The lowest ranked 20 teams were placed in 6 preliminary qualifying groups of 3 and one group of 2, with the group winners joining the remaining 21 teams in 7 groups of 4. Sugathadasa Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is currently used for football, rugby union, and athletics. The stadium holds 25,000 people and has an on-site hotel. The 2007 AFC Asian Cup qualification was held in late 2005 and the final qualification round was held from February to November 2006 with 25 nations participating. For the first time, the defending champions (Japan), did not earn an automatic berth in the finals and had to compete in the qualification tournament.
