Fiontán Ó Curraoin
Fiontán Ó Curraoin (born 29 August 1992 in Galway) is an Irish Gaelic footballer and teacher from Galway. Ó Curraoin plays his club football with Míchael Breathnach. He played at senior level for the Galway county team from 2011 onwards. Ó Curraoin was a key part of Galway GAA's Under 21 All-Ireland wins of 2011 and 2013. He won the Sigerson Cup with DCU in 2012. Ó Curraoin injured himself while playing for Galway against Mayo in the FBD Insurance League in January 2020 and required hospital treatment. Ó Curraoin withdrew from the Galway panel ahead of the 2021 season. He is a teacher at Coláiste Bhaile Chláir in Claregalway. Galway ( ; ga, Gaillimh, ) is a City status in Ireland, city in the West Region, Ireland, West of Ireland, in the Provinces of Ireland, province of Connacht, which is the county town of County Galway. 2018 Connacht Senior Football Championship
The 2018 Connacht Senior Football Championship was the 119th installment of the annual Connacht Senior Football Championship organised by Connacht GAA. It is one of the four provincial competitions of the 2018 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Unlike previous seasons, where the Connacht champions earned a place in the quarter-finals, this year's winners advanced to the new "All-Ireland Super 8s". The draw for the Connacht Championship was made on 19 October 2017. Details on dates for the fixtures were announced on 31 October 2017. The winners receive the J. J. Nestor Cup, named after J. J. The 2016 Connacht Senior Football Championship will be the 117th installment of the annual Connacht Senior Football Championship held under the auspices of Connacht GAA. It is one of the four provincial competitions of the 2016 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Mayo entered the competition as defending champions but were beaten by Galway in the semi-finals. Galway went on to win their first title in eight years by beating Roscommon after a replay. Due to Covid-19 it's still last meeting of Mayo hosting London and Roscommon day for New York there 2021 meetings were both cancelled before the draws had taken place the next time we will see those rotational fixtures will possibly in 2026. The Connacht Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition for the senior county teams of Connacht GAA. All of the counties of Connacht participate in the championship, as well as counties London and New York. The winning team receives the Nestor Cup. The Connacht Senior Football Championship is run on a knock-out basis in which once a team loses they are eliminated from the competition. A series of games are played during the summer months and the final is played in June or July. The winner progresses directly to the All-Ireland Super 8s, while losing teams progress to the All-Ireland Qualifiers (before 2001 the All-Ireland was a straight knock-out format meaning all losing teams were eliminated after a single defeat). Claregalway
Baile Chláir or Baile Chláir na Gaillimhe (anglicized Claregalway) is a Gaeltacht village about 10 km north of Galway city in County Galway, Ireland.
