Finnish Hockey Hall Of Fame
The Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame is housed in and administered by the ('Finnish Ice Hockey Museum'), a part of the Vapriikki Museum Centre, in Tampere, Finland. The was founded in 1979 with the mission to record, document, and exhibit objects, photographs, and printed materials related to Finnish ice hockey. The original Kanada-malja and the Aurora Borealis Cup are on display along with a number of active-use Liiga awards and hockey memorabilia including sweaters and game-used gear from past seasons. Since 1985, the Hockey Hall of Fame Finland has honored distinguished players, coaches, referees, influencers, and members of the media who have made significant impact on ice hockey in Finland, naming them each a ('Finnish Ice Hockey Lion'). Each ''Jääkiekkoleijona'' is designated with the chronological number of their induction. Including the induction class of 2021, there are 262 inductees in the Hockey Hall of Fame Finland. Vapriikki Museum Centre
The Vapriikki Museum Centre (Finnish: ''Museokeskus Vapriikki'') is a cluster of museums operating in the old factory premises of Tampella, in Tampere, Finland. The name ''Vapriikki'' derives from the Swedish word ''fabrik'', meaning factory. Overview The facility was first opened to the public in 1996, and the centre was completed in 2000. In 2019, the centre was visited by over 170,000 visitors. Of the total floor area of , approximately half is available for exhibitions and other public use. Aravirta Hannu Pelicans 2008
Hannu Aravirta (born 26 March 1953) is a Finnish ice hockey player and an ice hockey coach for the Finnish national men's team, SM-liiga and Elitserien. Career as player Aravirta was born in Savonlinna, and made his first professional appearance in the 1973–1974 season, playing 35 games for TuTo in the SM-liiga. In the following season Aravirta played for his hometown team SaPKo in the Suomi-sarja for one season (1974–1975). Aravirta then headed to Kärpät for a three-season stint. Kärpät gained promotion from the first division to the SM-liiga after the 1976–1977 season and Aravirta played for the team in the 1977–1978 season. Aravirta left Oulu and Finland as he went to Södertälje SK to play in Swedish Allsvenskan. Niklas Hagman (born December 5, 1979) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey forward. Jere Kalervo Lehtinen (born June 24, 1973) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey forward. A right winger, he was drafted in the third round, 88th overall, in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota North Stars. Lehtinen played his entire 15-year National Hockey League (NHL) career with the North Stars/Dallas Stars organization. A two-way forward, Lehtinen is perhaps best known for his defensive responsibilities, for which he won the Frank J. Selke Trophy three times as the NHL's top defensive forward. After his retirement, he has served as the general manager of the Finnish national ice hockey team. He was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2018.
