Finland Men's National Floorball Team
Finland Men's National Floorball Team is the national floorball team of Finland. The national team was founded in 1985 and they played their first official game against Sweden in 1985. Finland has won four World Championships (2008, 2010, 2016, 2018) and 1 European Championships (1995). Finland has appeared in every World and European Championships tournament organised by the IFF and is the only team with Sweden to have won such a tournament. History Early years The Finland national floorball team was founded in 1985 and they played their first game against Sweden in Sollentuna on 28 September 1985. The Sweden men's national floorball team is the national floorball team of Sweden, and a member of the International Floorball Federation. It has won ten out of 14 men's world championships ( 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2012, 2014, 2020 and 2022). Helsinki Halli
Helsinki Halli (formerly Hartwall Arena) is a large multi-functional indoor arena located in Helsinki, Finland. It was opened in April 1997. The arena is convertible for various events. The total seated capacity during ice hockey games is 13,349 (about 14,000 for basketball, for concerts up to 15,000) and as an amphitheatre, it is significantly reduced to between 3,000 to 5,000. The Russian-owned arena has been unused since March 2022 due to EU sanctions related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Floorball Game
Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. Men and women play indoors with sticks and a plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. The sport of bandy also played a role in the game's development. The game was invented in Sweden in the late 1960s. The basic rules were established in 1979 when the first floorball club in the world, Sala IBK, from Sala, was founded in Sweden. Official rules for matches were first written down in 1981. The sport is organized internationally by the International Floorball Federation (IFF). As of 2019, there were about 377,000 registered floorball players worldwide, up from around 300,000 in 2014. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Jordal Amfi (1951)
Jordal Amfi was an indoor ice hockey rink in Oslo, Norway, the first bearing that name. The venue opened in 1951 to host the 1952 Winter Olympics. Jordal was also the site of the 1958 and the 1999 IIHF World Championship. It would in the following decades also serve several boxing matches and concerts. Jordal Amfi was historically significant for Norwegian hockey and was home to 26 national championships of the GET-ligaen side Vålerenga Ishockey. It also hosted the Norway national ice hockey team. The arena's design by Frode Rinnan and Olav Tveten was characterized by its asymmetrical shape, giving steep and tall stands on the one end and low stands on the other. Mika Kohonen
Mika Kohonen (born May 10, 1977) is a Finnish floorball player. He currently plays for FC Helsingborg, a club in the Swedish Super League (men's floorball), Swedish Super League. He has also played for Balrog IK in Swedish Super League (men's floorball), SSL and Happee in Salibandyliiga. He has also been a part of Men's national floorball team of Finland, Finland's national floorball team for many years. He had his own line of floorball sticks, called MK29, which were released by floorball company Karhu (sports brand), Karhu. In a poll conducted by the Swedish magazine Innebandymagazinet, reporters and national team coaches have voted Kohonen the world's best floorball player for five times; in 2005, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
