Filthy Rich (1982 TV Series)
''Filthy Rich'' is an American sitcom television series that aired on CBS from August 1982 to June 1983. Starring Dixie Carter and Charles Frank, the series satirized prime-time soap operas such as ''Dallas'' and ''Dynasty''. Premise The series was set in Memphis at a fictional mansion called Toad Hall, which was owned by one Big Guy Beck (Slim Pickens in the pilot, and Forrest Tucker afterwards), a very wealthy land baron. He had recently died of an undisclosed illness, and before he was cryonically frozen, he had made out a videotaped will, a piece of which was played every week, by his lawyer, George Wilhoit ( David Healy and Vernon Weddle). The will's terms were harshest on Big Guy's oldest son, the snobbish Marshall Beck (Michael Lombard) and his equally snobbish wife Carlotta (Dixie Carter). Also aghast at the will's terms was Big Guy's wily younger wife, Kathleen (Delta Burke). The terms stated that the family wouldn't be able to collect a dime of their inheritance until th ...

He is found by a cowboy (Joel McCrea) who is part of a cattle drive. Lucky to be alive, the boy has to tag along with the cowboys. He learns the value of hard work, self-discipline and comradeship while working with the men on the trail to Santa Fe. Influences The basic story—about a rich brat who gets lost in a dangerous place far from home, then learns character and values from the working men who rescue him—echoes that of 1937's Oscar-winning film ''Captains Courageous'', adapted from a novel by Rudyard Kipling. The key difference, besides the fact that the leading man does ...

Filthy Rich (game)
''Filthy Rich'' is a card game designed by Richard Garfield and published by Wizards of the Coast in 1998. The game uses a binder with 4 Ultra Pro 9-pocket card sleeves to simulate an advertising space. Players place ads, represented by cards, in the pockets, covering up those underneath. Gameplay The object of the game is to purchase 3 cards from the luxury deck. These represent various status symbols, such as “Trophy Wife" (in later editions, "Trophy Spouse"), “Title of Nobility”, or “Space Shuttle”. Other than their role in winning the game, luxuries confer no benefit to the player, and cost the player money whenever taxes are collected. On a player’s turn, they must play two cards from their hand. Cards may be Action cards (“IRS Audit,” “Business Scout”) which allow the player to take a one-time action, Asset cards (“Yakuza Loan,” “Prot ...
