Fife
Fife (, ; gd, Fìobha, ; sco, Fife) is a council area, historic county, registration county and lieutenancy area of Scotland. It is situated between the Firth of Tay and the Firth of Forth, with inland boundaries with Perth and Kinross (i.e. the historic counties of Perthshire and Kinross-shire) and Clackmannanshire. By custom it is widely held to have been one of the major Pictish kingdoms, known as ''Fib'', and is still commonly known as the Kingdom of Fife within Scotland. A person from Fife is known as a ''Fifer''. In older documents the county was very occasionally known by the anglicisation Fifeshire. Fife is Scotland's third largest local authority area by population. It has a resident population of just under 367,000, over a third of whom live in the three principal towns, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes. Danny Fife
Danny Wayne Fife (October 5, 1949 – May 30, 2024) was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Minnesota Twins in and . A three-sport standout at Clarkston High School (MI), Fife played 3 years of varsity basketball and baseball at the University of Michigan. He served as basketball captain in his senior year. Fife was drafted in the 1971 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks and also by the Detroit Tigers in the major league baseball draft. Choosing baseball as his immediate career path, Fife signed with the Tigers and was traded to the Minnesota Twins right before the 1973 season. A sore arm ended Fife's baseball career prematurely after the 1975 season. Phyllis Fife
Phyllis Fife (born 1948) is a Muscogee Creek painter and educator from Oklahoma. Personal life and education Fife was born near Dustin, Oklahoma to James Fife and Carmen Griffin Fife. She belongs to the Raccoon clan and Tukvpvtce Tribal Town. She was first educated in a rural school before enrolling in the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe from 1963 until 1966. She studied under Howard Warshaw at the University of California, Santa Barbara and transferred to the University of Oklahoma in 1970. At OU, she earned her BFA degree in 1973. She then earned her Master of Education degree at Northeastern State University and her Doctor of Education degree from the University of Arkansas. Fife has three daughters. He is currently competing in the S5000 Australian Drivers' Championship with 88Racing, driving the No. 88 Onroak-Ligier-Ford. John Fife
John Fife (1940- ) is a human rights activist and retired Presbyterian minister who lives in Tucson, Arizona. He was a member of the Sanctuary Movement and was a co-founder of the immigrant rights group No More Deaths. Rev. Fife served as a minister for 35 years at Southside Presbyterian Church in Tucson, a church with a strong focus on social justice issues. In 1992 Fife was elected Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA). He is now Pastor Emeritus at Southside Presbyterian. In the 1980s John Fife co-founded the Sanctuary Movement in the United States. Volunteers in the movement provided support to Central American refugees, many of whom were fleeing U.S.-supported death squads in their home countries of El Salvador and Guatemala. The movement organized over 500 churches to help the refugees cross the border and find sanctuary in the U.S., in defiance of federal law. Jenna Josephine Fife (born 1 December 1995) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Rangers W.F.C. in the Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL) and for the Scotland national team. Jason Fife (born January 23, 1981) is a former American football quarterback. He was originally signed as a free agent by the Detroit Lions in 2004. He played college football at Oregon. College career Fife played college football at the University of Oregon, backing up Joey Harrington until Harrington left for the 2002 NFL Draft and Fife became the starter. James Fife
James Fife (fl. 1718, occasionally spelled Fyff) was a pirate active in the Caribbean. He accepted the British pardon offered to pirates in 1718 but was killed by his own men. History Little is known of Fife's early life. Ivy Fife
Ivy Grace Fife (1903–1976), born Ivy Grace Hofmeister, was a New Zealand painter based in Christchurch and Canterbury. Known for her portraits, her work also includes landscapes and is reflective of life in Canterbury and the South Island of New Zealand. Working in gouache, oils, watercolours, ink and wash, and pencil, she was influenced by W.A. Sutton and a contemporary of Olivia Spencer Bower and Russell Clark.
