Field Hockey At The 2019 Pan American Games – Men's Tournament
The men's field hockey tournament at the 2019 Pan American Games was the 14th edition of the field hockey event for men at the Pan American Games. It took place over a twelve-day period beginning on 30 July, and culminated with the medal finals on 10 August. The winner of the tournament qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Qualification A total of eight men's teams qualified to compete at the games. The host nation (Peru) received automatic qualification. The top two teams at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games and 2018 South American Games also qualified. The top two teams not yet qualified from the 2017 Pan American Cup (after the results from the above two tournaments are taken into account) also qualified. If Canada and/or the United States have not qualified still, a playoff between the nations and the third-ranked at the Pan American Cups will take place. Martín Ferreiro
Martín Ignacio Ferreiro (born 21 October 1997) is an Argentine field hockey player who plays as a forward for German Bundesliga club Crefelder HTC and the Argentine national team. Club career Ferreiro played for Lomas in Argentina until 2019. He joined Pinoké in the Dutch Hoofdklasse for the 2019–20 season. After two season in the Netherlands he moved to Belgium to play for Gantoise in Ghent. He only stayed there for one season as he moved to Germany to play for Crefelder HTC in the summer of 2022. International career Ferreiro made his debut for the senior national team at the 2018 South American Games. In July 2019, he was selected in the Argentina squad for the 2019 Pan American Games. Juan Ignacio Amoroso Zirpel (born 8 July 1997) is a field hockey player from Chile. Personal life Amoroso has a younger cousin, Agustín, who has also represented Chile in field hockey. Career Los Diablos Amoroso made his senior debut for Chile in 2015 during a test event for the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Since his debut, Amoroso has been a regular inclusion in the national squad.
