''Ffizz'' is a British television sitcom created by ITV which ran from 9 September 1987 to 29 August 1989 which followed Jack Mowbray ( Richard Griffiths) and Hugo Walker (Benjamin Whitrow), who owned a wine business but never had to actually run it until their accountant died leaving them not only with the work but the surprising knowledge that they were out of money. It was directed by Derrick Goodwin and also starred Felicity Montagu Felicity Jane Montagu (born 12 September 1960) is an English actress. Robin Kermode
Robin William Kermode (born 9 July 1958), is an English actor, author and communications coach. He is best known for his role in ''Never the Twain'', ''Ffizz'', ''The Ruth Rendell Mysteries'', ''The Iron Lady (film), Iron Lady'', ''Wilde (film), Wilde'', ''the Norman Conquests'', ''She Stoops to Conquer'' and ''Blithe Spirit (play), Blithe Spirit''. Felicity Jane Montagu (born 12 September 1960) is an English actress. She is best known for playing Lynn Benfield, the long-suffering assistant of Alan Partridge. Richard Griffiths
Richard Thomas Griffiths (31 July 1947 – 28 March 2013) was an English actor of film, television, and stage. For his performance in the stage play ''The History Boys'', Griffiths won a Tony Award, a Laurence Olivier Award, the Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award. For the 2006 film adaptation, Griffiths was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Andrew Norriss
Andrew Norriss (born 1947) is a British children's author and a writer for television. Background Andrew Norriss was born in 1947. He was educated at St John's School, Leatherhead followed by University at Trinity College Dublin (1966–70). After teaching at Stroud School, Romsey he trained for his PGCE at University of Winchester from 1973 to 1974, then taught History at Peter Symonds College, Winchester from 1974 to 1985. Whilst teaching he started writing television sitcoms and children's comedy dramas with Richard Fegen. He now lives in Hampshire with his wife, and writes children's books. Writing Norriss won The Whitbread (Costa) Children's Book Award (1997) for his children's book ''Aquila'', which he wrote both as a book and as the '' Aquila'' series for the BBC. Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. Critics disagree over the utility of the term "sitcom" in classifying shows that have come into existence since the turn of the century.
