Fernando Santiago Varela
Fernando Andrés Santiago Varela (born 4 June 1973) is an Argentine-born Spanish football coach. He is the current head coach of I-League 2 club Bengaluru United. Managerial career Fernando Varela is an Argentine-born Spanish coach. He is a UEFA Pro Licence holder and from 2011 to 2014 he was Football coordinator of the Almeda CD in Cornellá de Llobregat. He has previously coached Catalalan CE Tecnofútbol in the lower leagues before joining Gokulam. He is the author of the book ''Futbol Inteligente'' (Smart Football). In 2018 March he appointed as the head coach of Indian top division club Gokulam Kerala and under him they won the Kerala Premier League. Before the I-League season he was sacked by the club due to personal reason but after revealed that the language was the problem because Varela was not good at English. The Sultan Qaboos Stadium at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex ( ar, مجمع السلطان قابوس الرياضي), also known locally as Boshar ( ar, بوشر), is a government-owned multi-purpose stadium in the Boshar district of Muscat, Oman. It is currently used mostly for football matches, and also has facilities for athletics. Churchill Brothers FC Goa, or simply known as Churchill Brothers, is an Indian professional football club based in Margao, Goa, that competes in the I-League, alongside Goa Professional League. The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system. It is currently contested by 12 clubs across the country with the winners getting promotion to play in the premier division, the Indian Super League. The Stafford Challenge Cup is an Indian football tournament held in Karnataka, organized by the Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA). Instituted in 1938, it is the oldest football tournament in South India. The tournament was abolished in 1993, but was revived in 2023. 2019 Durand Cup
The 2019 Durand Cup was the 129th edition of the Durand Cup, oldest football tournament in Asia, since the tournament's founding in 1888. 16 teams competed in the tournament. The matches were played across three locations in West Bengal, namely Kolkata, Howrah and Kalyani from 2 August 2019. The final took place at the Salt Lake Stadium on 24 August 2019.
