Fernando Osorio
Fernando Osorio is a singer-songwriter, born in Bogotá, Colombia, and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. Early life At age seven, Osorio played the cuatro, violin, flute and viola in Emil Friedman school. Career In 1982, while being a member of the choir of his church in Caracas, met Juan Carlos Perez and formed the duo Fernando y Juan Carlos. They recorded in 1985 their first album, which was only released in Venezuela. Osorio also has had combined a parallel career as a songwriter. Venezuelan performer Guillermo Dávila recorded in 1984 "Definitivamente" written by Osorio, being the first time someone recorded a song by Osorio (aside from his band). Karina and Ricardo Montaner followed Dávila and also included songs by Osorio on their respective albums. As a writer, his first success overseas came with "Sólo Con Un Beso" recorded by Montaner in 1988. Karina (born November 19, 1968, as Cynthia Karina Moreno Elías) is a Peruvian-born Venezuelan Latin pop music singer, songwriter, and actress. Luis Enrique Mejía López (born September 28, 1962) is a Nicaraguan singer-songwriter. He is known as "El Príncipe de la Salsa" (''The Prince of Salsa''). He achieved widespread success with the single " Yo No Sé Mañana". Early life and education He attended La Serna High School in Whittier, California. Career He started his career in the late 1980s and achieved success in the 1990s. He was one of the leading pioneers that led to the salsa romántica movement in the 1980s. Ibrahim Ferrer
Ibrahim Ferrer (February 20, 1927 – August 6, 2005) was a Cuban singer who played with Los Bocucos for nearly forty years. He also performed with Conjunto Sorpresa, Chepín y su Orquesta Oriental and Mario Patterson. After his retirement in 1991, he was brought back in the studio to record with the Afro-Cuban All Stars and Buena Vista Social Club in March 1996. He then toured internationally with these revival groups and recorded several solo albums for World Circuit before his death in 2005. Latin Pop Airplay (also referred to as Latin Pop Songs) is a record chart published on ''Billboard'' magazine and a subchart of the Latin Airplay chart. The chart focuses on Latin pop music, namely Spanish-language pop music. It was established by the magazine on October 8, 1994 as a subchart of the Hot Latin Songs chart until October 2012 when the Hot Latin Songs changed its methodology. ''Azabache'' (Spanish: "jet (lignite)") is the third studio album by Spanish singer Marta Sánchez. This was released in 1997. On this album more producers were involved (Andres Levin, Nile Rodgers, Camus Celli, Robyn Smith and Stephen Budd) along with longtime musical partner Christian De Walden. They created a rock oriented album, instead of the pop music Marta recorded for her first and second albums. Critical reactions were mostly positive. Andrés Levin
Andrés Levin is a Venezuelan-born American record producer, bandleader, filmmaker, recording engineer and philanthropist. After several nominations, Levin won a Grammy Award in 2009 for his production of the ''In the Heights'' cast recording. His Grammy-nominated Latin fusion band Yerba Buena was founded along with Cuban-American singer Cucu Diamantes. Levin has been called the "master-chef of urban fusion" by the ''Los Angeles Times''.
