Arlette Pinheiro Esteves Torres ONM (née da Silva; born 16 October 1929), known by her stage name Fernanda Montenegro ( /feʁˈnɐ̃dɐ mõtʃiˈnegɾu/), is a Brazilian stage, television and film actress. Considered by many the greatest Brazilian actress of all time, she is often referred to as the ''grande dame'' of Brazilian theater, cinema, and performing arts. Fernanda de Freitas Sahdo (born February 25, 1980) is a Brazilian actress. Career Fernanda was a ballet teacher for 14 years. At age 19, she quit the gym where she worked as a ballet teacher and left her hometown of São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo, to go and live in Rio de Janeiro. Fernanda Gattinoni
Fernanda Gattinoni (2 December 1906 – 27 November 2002) was an Italian fashion designer who was the founder of the Gattinoni atelier. She left Italy at age 17 and worked as an apprentice for the London-based Edward Molyneux, Molineaux fashion house. Gattinoni returned to Italy in 1930 to become head of the creative department for the Ventura atelier after declining an offer to work for Chanel in Paris. In 1946, she established the Gattinoni atelier and designed costumes for Italian notability and notable foreign figures. Gattinoni earned a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design with her design of Audrey Hepburn's attire in the 1956 film ''War and Peace (1956 film), War and Peace''.
