Ferdous Ahmed (born 7 June 1974), known mononymously as Ferdous, is a Bangladeshi film actor and producer. He acts in Bangladesh and Indian Bengali films. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor 5 times for his roles in the films ''Hothat Brishti'' (1998), ''Gangajatra'' (2009), ''Kusum Kusum Prem'' (2011), ''Ek Cup Cha'' (2014) and '' Putro'' (2018). Career Actor Ahmed was introduced in the film industry by choreographer Amir Hossain Babu. He debuted in the film ''Hothat Brishti'' (1998), directed by Basu Chatterjee. He won his first Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for the lead role in the film. He then acted Chatterjee's two other films – ''Chupi Chupi'' (2001) and ''Tak Jhal Mishti'' (2002). In 2003, he performed in ''Chandrokotha'' of filmmaker Humayun Ahmed and ''Kal Shokale'' of Amjad Hossain. Ferdous Ara is a Bangladeshi Nazrul Sangeet singer. Early life and education Ara, nicknamed Marine, was born in Brahmanbaria District to A.H.M. Abdul Hai, a classical singer of the early 1950s, and Mosharrefa Begum. She has three sisters, Jannat Ara, Nur-e-Jannat and Hur-e-Jannat. She completed her bachelor's and master's in History from the University of Dhaka. Career In 1973, Ara started her career as a regular vocal artist in Bangladesh Radio and afterward in Bangladesh Television. She has released numerous albums of Nazrul Sangeet, contemporary and patriotic songs. In 1985, her first album was released by SARGAM. She became the first person in Bangladesh whose music video of Nazrul Sangeet was released. Ara teaches Nazrul songs at the Nazrul Institute, University of Dhaka and Dhaka Music College. Ferdous Ahmed Qureshi ( bn, ফেরদৌস আহমদ কোরেশি; 1941-2020) was a Bangladeshi politician and chairman of the Progressive Democratic Party. Ferdous Wahid is a retired Bangladeshi pop singer and film director. He made his directorial debut with the Bangladeshi film '' Kusumpurer Golpo'' (The Story of Kusumpur).
