Felipe Varela is a Spanish fashion designer. Early career Felipe Varela studied design and pattern design at Esmod, Esmod College in Paris. He went on to stud yHaute Couture and Textiles at the I.F.M., where he was awarded with the Oscar for Young Designer. As a student in Paris, Varela worked for international fashion houses such as Kenzo Takada, Kenzo, Dior, Thierry Mugler, Lanvin (clothing), Lanvin, Angelo Tarlazzi and Torrente, the Dumb Arm of the Law, Torrente. Manfred Thierry Mugler (; 21 December 1948 – 23 January 2022) was a French fashion designer, creative director and creative adviser of Mugler.
