Federico Basile
Federico Basile (born 19 June 1977) is an Italian politician, mayor of Messina since 2022. Biography Basile holds a degree in economics and commerce from the University of Messina. In 2005 he obtained the qualification to the profession of chartered accountant, as well as to that of auditor. From 2013 to 2018 he was a member of the board of auditors of the University of Messina, while from 2016 to 2017 he was an expert in marketing and economy of the territory of the municipality of Montalbano Elicona. Since February 2020 he has held the dual office of president of the evaluation unit of the metropolitan city of Messina and general manager of the municipality of Messina. Cateno Roberto De Luca (born 18 March 1972) is an Italian politician, mayor of Messina from 2018 to 2022. Biography Mayor of Fiumedinisi and Santa Teresa di Riva De Luca was born in Fiumedinisi. At the age of 18 he began his political career by being elected to the city council of his city and at the age of 22 he was appointed councilor to the municipality. After losing to the municipal elections of 1998 for the nomination of the new mayor of Fiumedinisi, he reapplied in 2003, succeeding this time to win. Reconfirmed mayor in 2008, two years before he is a candidate for the Regional Sicilian Regional elections, being elected and reconfirmed in the elections of 2008 and 2012. Sicilia Vera () is a political party active in Sicily, led by Cateno De Luca. "Vera" is also an acronym for ''Verso una Economia Regionale Autonoma'' (). History The party was founded in 2007 by Cateno De Luca, at that time deputy of the Sicilian Regional Assembly. In the 2008 Sicilian regional election, De Luca found an agreement with the Movement for Autonomy (his former party) and was re-elected on its lists.
