The Federal University, Wukari was established in 2011 by the federal government of Nigeria led by the then President, Goodluck Jonathan, the school was established as one of the nine schools established at the time. Federal University, Wukari is located in the town called Wukari in Taraba State, Nigeria. Faculties Federal University, Wukari has three faculties comprising 25 departments: * Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences * Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences * Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences Vice Chancellors The Federal University, Wukari has since its inception had vice-chancellors who have been the administrative head of the institution. Jude Rabo (born 21 June 1961) is a Nigerian professor of veterinary medicine who currently serves as the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Wukari, Taraba State Nigeria. Early life and education Rabo was born in Tadmum, Bogoro, Bauchi State on 21 June 1961. He started his education at Tadmum Primary School from 1967 to 1975. He attended Gindiri Boys Secondary School, Plateau State from 1975 to 1980. Rabo preceded to Ahmadu Bello University where he studied veterinary medicine from 1980 to 1986. Wukari is a Local Government Area in Taraba State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Wukari on the A4 highway. The Donga River flows through the area and the Benue River forms a boundary with Nasarawa State to the northwest. It has an area of 4,308 km and a population of 241,546 at the 2006 census. The National Universities Commission (NUC) is a government commission for promoting quality higher education in Nigeria. Situated in Abuja, it was established in 1962 as an advisory agency in the cabinet office. In 1974, it became a statutory body and its first executive secretary was professor Jibril Aminu. Abubakar Kundiri is a professor of soil science. He is the former vice chancellor of Federal University Dutse and Federal University Wukari, Taraba State, in Nigeria. Education Abubakar Kundiri had his primary education at the ATMN Primary School, Gana-Ropp after which he went to Gindiri Boys Secondary School for his secondary education. He proceeded to University of Maiduguri in 1987 where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and in 1991 he had his Master of Science degree in soil science with specialization in soil and water management from the same university.
