The Spanish Federation for Mountain and Climbing Sports ( es, Federación Española de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada, FEDME) located in the ''Floridablanca 84'' in Barcelona, is the Spanish federation of mountain and climbing sports. It was founded under the name ''Federación Española de Alpinismo'' (Spanish federation of alpinism) on July 1, 1922, and renamed to ''Federación de Montañismo'' later. As of 2022, the federation has 2,976 registered clubs and 289,605 federated members. A mountain hut is a building located high in the mountains, generally accessible only by foot, intended to provide food and shelter to mountaineers, climbers and hikers. Mountain huts are usually operated by an Alpine Club or some organization dedicated to hiking or mountain recreation. GR Footpath
The GR footpaths are a network of long-distance walking trails in Europe, mostly in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain.
