Fawazeer Ramadan ( ar, فوازير رمضان) was an Egyptian television show broadcast during the month of Ramadan. It involved riddles (''fawazeer'') presented in musical form, with awards given out to the winners. The show began in the 1960s and lasted until the year 2000, being broadcast irregularly. Many prominent Egyptian actors and entertainers participated in the show, most notably Sherihan, Fouad el-Mohandes, Nelly Cornell Iral Haynes Jr. (born November 2, 1974), better known by his stage name Nelly, is an American rapper, singer, actor and entrepreneur. Sherihan
Sherihan ( ar, شريهان) (born 6 December 1964) is an Egyptian actress, singer and classically trained dancer. Biography Sherihan started acting at the age of four. She is mostly known for Fawazir Ramadan. She retired in 2002 and came out of retirement in 2016. In 2021, she made her stage return after a 20-year hiatus from acting by starring in ''Coco Chanel'' play. Personal life Sherihan is a half-sister of Omar Khorshid. She married Jordanian businessman Alaa Khawaja, with whom she has two daughters. In 1990, she had a terrible accident, in which she broke her back including the spine. In 2002, she suffered from Salivary gland tumours, which forced her to retire from acting. An Arab television drama or Arab soap opera (also known as musalsal ( ar, مسلسل), plural musalsalat ( ar, مسلسلات)) is a television form of melodramatic serialized fiction. The musalsalat are similar in style to Latin American telenovelas. They are often historical epics about Islamic figures or love stories involving class conflict and intrigue. The word ''musalsal'' literally means "chained, continuous". During the evenings of the month of Ramadan, after the Iftar meal is eaten to break the day's fast, families across much of the Arab world watch these special dramas on television.
