Jacques Élie Faure (April 4, 1873 in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, France – October 29, 1937 in Paris) was a French doctor, art historian and essayist. Keith George Faure (born June, 1951), from Norlane, Victoria, is an Australian career criminal, convicted of multiple murders and manslaughters. Jacques Marie Alfred Gaston Faure (2 March 1904 – 9 April 1988) was a French Army general and skier. He was the leader of the French national Olympic military patrol team in 1936 which placed sixth and in 1961 one of the masterminds of the Algiers putsch. Camille Alphonse Faure (21 May 1840 Р14 September 1898) was a French chemical engineer who in 1881 significantly improved the design of the lead-acid battery, which had been invented by Gaston Plant̩ in 1859. Abraham Faure (29 August 1795 – 28 March 1875) was a clergyman and author from Cape Colony, part of what later became South Africa. Church career Born in Stellenbosch, Faure was educated in both England and the Netherlands and, with a strong Calvinist background, in 1818 he was inducted as a dominee (minister) in the Dutch Reformed Church in Graaff-Reinet, Cape Colony.
