Fatou Station
Fatou station () is a station on Line 7 of the Beijing Subway. It was opened on December 30, 2018. The adjacent stations are to the northwest and to the east. The station is located in Chaoyang District, at the intersection of Fatou Road () and Fatou East Street (). History The station's platforms were completed on 28 December 2014, along with the rest of the initial section of Line 7, but, due to the need to clear space at the surface for station entrances, the station has remained unopened and trains pass through without stopping at Fatou. In November 2017, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban Rural Development, and the ''Beijing Daily'', both stated it expected the station to be operational by the end of 2018. Chaoyang District, Beijing
Chaoyang District () is a core district of Beijing. It borders the districts of Shunyi to the northeast, Tongzhou to the east and southeast, Daxing to the south, Fengtai to the southwest, Dongcheng, Xicheng and Haidian to the west, and Changping to the northwest. Chaoyang is home to the majority of Beijing's many foreign embassies, the well-known Sanlitun bar street, as well as Beijing's growing central business district. The Olympic Green, built for the 2008 Summer Olympics, is also in Chaoyang. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. The Beijing Subway is the rapid transit system of Beijing Municipality that consists of 25 lines including 20 rapid transit lines, two airport rail links, one maglev line and 2 light rail lines, and 463 stations. The rail network extends across 12 urban and suburban districts of Beijing and into one district of Langfang in neighboring Hebei province. With 3.8484 billion trips delivered in 2018, an average of 10.544 million trips per day, the Beijing Subway is the world's busiest metro system.
