Fatih Portakal
Fatih Portakal (born 2 February 1967) is a Turkish journalist and television presenter. Life and career Portakal was born on 2 February 1967 in Nazilli. He completed his primary education there and later finished his secondary education in İzmir Atatürk High School. He then enrolled in Istanbul University School of Business Administration before moving to Australia in 1994 to earn his master's degree and receive foreign language education. After completing his education, he operated a restaurant in Australia for a while. In 1997, he returned to Turkey and married Armağan Toper. Between 1997 and 2005, he worked as a reporter for Star TV. In 2005, at the offer of Mehmet Ali Birand, he joined the crew of Kanal D. Nazilli
Nazilli is the largest town in Aydın Province in the Aegean region of western Turkey, east of the city of Aydın, on the road to Denizli. Etymology Nazilli is a Turkish name that has somehow evolved from the former (also Turkish) name of Pazarköy (marketplace). According to legend, the son of Aydın's governor in the Ottoman period, fell in love with a young woman from Pazarköy but was rejected by the girl's father. The young man later named the town Nazlı Ili (Nazlı's Home) after his loved one. The 17th century traveller Evliya Çelebi held that the town was named for the capriciousness ("naz") of the local women in this wealthy town. Nazlı Tolga (born 8 November 1979) is a Turkish-Dutch journalist and television host. Tolga was the anchorwoman of the leading local and foreign affairs programme FOX Ana Haber and ''Nazlı Tolga ile Haber Masası''. Nazlı Tolga was born in Ankara, Turkey. She was born into a Muslim-Turkish Family from Samsun and Malatya in Ankara. She is fluent in Turkish, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, and English. After completing her elementary and high school education in American College of Istanbul, she attended Marmara University, Faculty of Communication–the leading institution of communication education and studies in Turkey. ''BirGün'' (''One Day'') is an Istanbul-based Turkish left-wing daily. The paper was founded in 2004 by a group of Turkish intellectuals. The most important point of the newspaper is that it is not owned by any parent company or conglomerate. Since its foundation, the newspaper had to face serious pressures from publishing trusts, mainly to affiliated with Doğan Media Group that owns the vast majority of the market. Whereas most of the newspapers in Turkey pay paper and publishing cost as installments, ''BirGün'' had to pay in cash. In order to afford the costs, the newspaper first launched a subscription campaign, then raised its price to 0.75 TL.
