Farnoosh Samadi (Persian: فرنوش صمدی; December 23) is an Iranian director and screenwriter. her short film ''The Silence'' (2016) was nominated for a Short Film Palme d'Or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Career Farnoosh Samadi was born in Iran. She graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in Rome. She directed the short films "''The Silence''" (2016), "''Gaze''" (2017), and "''The Role''" (2018). "'' 180° Rule''" (2020) is her first feature. "''The Silence''" her first short film co-directed by Ali Asgari, had its world premiere in competition at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. 2016 Cannes Film Festival
The 69th Cannes Film Festival was held from 11 to 22 May 2016. Australian director George Miller was the President of the Jury for the main competition. French actor Laurent Lafitte was the host for the opening and closing ceremonies. On 15 March it was announced that Japanese director Naomi Kawase would serve as the Cinéfondation and Short Film Jury president. American director Woody Allen's film ''Café Society'' opened the festival. The Palme d'Or was awarded to the British film ''I, Daniel Blake'' directed by Ken Loach, which also served as closing film of the festival. The ''Jakarta Globe'' is a daily online English-language newspaper in Indonesia, launched in November 2008. The paper initially came out as a print newspaper with an average of 48 pages a day, and published Monday to Saturday. 2017 Toronto International Film Festival
The 42nd annual Toronto International Film Festival was held from 7 to 17 September 2017. There were fourteen programmes, with the Vanguard and City to City programmes both being retired from previous years, with the total number of films down by 20% from the 2016 edition.
