Farnham ( /ˈfɑːnəm/) is a market town and civil parish in Surrey, England, around southwest of London. It is in the Borough of Waverley, close to the county border with Hampshire. The town is on the north branch of the River Wey, a tributary of the Thames, and is at the western end of the North Downs. The civil parish, which includes the villages of Badshot Lea, Hale and Wrecclesham, covers and had a population of 39,488 in 2011. Jann Turner (born 1964) is a South African film director, novelist, television director and screenwriter. Her feature film directorial debut was the 2009 film ''White Wedding''. Life and career Turner was born to anti-Apartheid academic Rick Turner and later politician Barbara Hubbard. Her father was killed in front of her when she was thirteen years old; her parents were divorced at that time. Turner along with her younger sister, Kim, spent most of her childhood living in Cape Town, with their mother. Carole Hersee (born 25 November 1958) is an English costume designer who is best known for appearing in the centrepiece of the United Kingdom television Test Card F (and latterly Test Card J, J, Test Card W, W, and Test Card X, X), which aired on BBC Television from 1967 to 1998. Kylie Grimes (born 7 December 1987 in Aldershot, Hampshire) is a British para-athlete. She is one of two women, along with Bieke Ketelbuters, who competed on wheelchair rugby teams at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. She was part of the GB team to win their first ever gold in the event, at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan, beating the USA 54–49. In doing so she became the first woman of any country to win a Paralympic gold medal in the sport. Early life Grimes became disabled after a diving accident at a friend's swimming pool. Rachel Morris (born 25 April 1979) is a British Paralympic sportswoman who has won Paralympic gold medals in both cycling and rowing.
