Faraz Akram
Faraz Akram ( ur, ; born 3 October 1993) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. Akram was born in Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents, and made his international debut for the Zimbabwe cricket team in November 2020. Personal life Faraz Akram was born on 3 October 1993 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents. Raised in the Middle East and Pakistan, he moved with his family to Zimbabwe in 2000, where his diplomat father worked at the Pakistani embassy. Akram attended Westridge High School in Harare. He became the second Pakistani-origin player to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket, following Sikander Raza. Career He made his first-class debut for Rising Stars in the 2017–18 Logan Cup on 4 October 2017. He made his List A debut for Rising Stars in the 2017–18 Pro50 Championship on 17 April 2018. Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. South Africa A Cricket Team In Zimbabwe In 2021
The South Africa A cricket team toured Zimbabwe in May and June 2021 to play four unofficial One Day International matches (with List A status) and two unofficial Test matches (with first-class status) against the Zimbabwe A cricket team. The fixtures for the tour were confirmed by Zimbabwe Cricket on 17 May 2021, with all of the matches having played in Harare. Zimbabwe Cricket's official YouTube channel streamed all the matches live. Background On 18 May 2021, Zimbabwe Cricket announced 16-man squads for both the unofficial ODI and Test series, with Tendai Chatara named as the captain for the List A series, while Richmond Mutumbami as the captain for the first-class format. 2020–21 Logan Cup
The 2020–21 Logan Cup was the 27th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe, which started on 9 December 2020. After originally scheduled to start on 3 December 2020, the tournament was moved back a week to allow time to setup a bio-secure bubble. Five teams took part in the competition, including the Southern Rocks, who last played in the 2013–14 tournament. There was no defending champion, after the previous tournament was voided due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Four matches were played during December 2020. However, on 3 January 2021, Zimbabwe Cricket halted all cricket in the country following a rise in COVID-19 cases. In mid-March 2021, it was reported that the tournament would resume later that month, with the next round of matches starting on 18 March 2021.
