Fangshan Township () is a coastal rural township in Pingtung County, Taiwan. Township (Taiwan)
Townships are the third-level administrative subdivisions of counties of the Republic of China (Taiwan), along with county-administered cities. After World War II, the townships were established from the following conversions on the Japanese administrative divisions: Although local laws do not enforce strict standards for classifying them, generally urban townships have a larger population and more business and industry than rural townships, but not to the extent of county-administered cities. Under townships, there is still the village as the fourth or basic level of administration. Pingtung County
Pingtung County is a county located in southern Taiwan. It has a warm tropical monsoon climate and is known for its agriculture and tourism. Kenting National Park, Taiwan's oldest national park, is located in the county. The county seat is Pingtung City. A cable landing point is the location where a submarine or other underwater cable makes landfall. The term is most often used for the landfall points of submarine telecommunications cables and submarine power cables. The landing will either be direct (in the case of a point-to-point cable system) or via a branch from a main cable using a submarine branching unit. The branch can be several kilometres long. Toucheng Township () is an urban township in Yilan County, Taiwan. The township includes Guishan Island and Guiluan Island in the Philippine Sea. C2C (cable System)
EAC-C2C is a submarine telecommunications cable system interconnecting several countries in Asia, the Pacific, and the United States. It is a merger of the former EAC (East Asia Crossing) and C2C cable systems. The merger occurred in 2007 by Asia Netcom, and the cable system is now owned/operated by Pacnet. Pacnet was acquired by the Australian telecommunications company Telstra in 2015. Fangshan Post Office
The Fangshan Post Office () is a post office in Fangshan Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan. History The post office was opened on 14 October 2016 as the 41st branch of Pingtung post office. Architecture The post office was designed resembling a shipping box with green and white exterior. It features an image of a shrike, the Chunghwa Post corrugated shopping boxes image and mangoes and onions, the local agricultural product of Fangshan. The roof features a large screen which opens up every hour. It is also powered by solar energy. Neishi Railway Station
Neishi () is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration South-link line in Fangshan Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan. In order to get to the platform from the train station, commuters would have to cross the railway track and the station is staffless. The train station sees only 4 trains calling here and many more trains passing by. In conjunction with the electrification works on the South-link Line, a side platform is being constructed which allows commuters to get the platform without crossing the railway track. History The station was opened on 5 October 1992.
